Imperial Stout with Coffee Added On a pilgrimmage for immortal craft beer we tripped on these heavenly coffee beans -- threw them in and created damn good aromas, a thick fudge-like body, pitch black color and obviously only made it in limited amounts. And the taste.... furthermore Jesus!

Aroma is dark roast coffee, bitter chocolate, roasted malts and a small amount of booze. Appearance is absolutely gorgeous. Shiny black color with a very dark brown head of foam that recedes immediately. The taste has some bitterness from the coffee/dark chocolate/hops combination, but this is balanced by the same creamy sweetness that is found in Even More Jesus. The palate is world class. Thick, full but still slick, it coats the mouth and looks substantial while pouring out. This was very good. I still like regular EMJ more, but this is a good installment in the series. These may be the best year round and easy to find Imperial Stouts around.

Purchased September 25, 2015 and enjoyed September 30, 2015 in a MadTree tulip/snifter. Look - Looks as great as Aun Mas Chili. Slow one finger of head develops and dissipates to a ring. Tan head. Thick. Dark brown. Smell - Sweet chocolate. Tootsie roll. Coffee. I wish I had a better way to explain the burnt chocolate. Taste - For a coffee stout, tops. Sweet chocolate but dark chocolate at the same time. Charred barley. Most importantly very strong coffee. Feel - Thick and goes down smooth. Not chewy but creamy. Carbonation tingles on tongue, Not sure what else you want. Overall - I compare this too Aun Mas Chili because Chili is one of my highest rated beers on here. Cafe is close. I would still rather have Chili but Cafe is great for a coffee stout.

Poured completely black with a brown head lacing. Smelled charred, dark chocolate, burnt coffee, dark fruits, with a hint of vanilla. Tasted like burnt coffee, marshmallow, roasted malts, and char. Mouth was thick and cream with a hint of coffee bitterness and a light alcohol kick. Overall it seems the coffee just added to roast and light smokiness of this beer.

33 cl bottle.
Pours jet black color with a small, lasting beige head. Lots of coffee and roasty dark malts on the nose, licorice, dark chocolate, cocoa, some wooden notes, faint hops and maybe hints of vanilla on the background. Extremely thick stuff, oily palate, bitter dark malts with lots of roast, licorice, espresso, cocoa, dark chocolate and some caramel sweetness on the finish. Alcohol is really not at play here, only some warmth on the aftertaste, quite balanced actually. A complex slow sipper, excellent.

35,5 cl bottle @ home
Aroma has coffee and slightly salty licorice. Flavour has salty licorice, herbal tones, some coffee and mild ashy notes. Rather oily palate, feels sticky on the first sip. Contains some balancing and non-disturbing alcohol. At the end of the glass chocolate and spiciness occurs. Too salty to be excellent but nice anyway.

September 11, 2015 - bottle from Blue Max. Black pour with limited bubbly head. Aroma was rich coffee, roasted malt and chocolate. Taste was consistent with the aroma, but the coffee was milder than expected.

Nice imperial style, but thought it would have more coffee flavoring based on the description. It had a nice licorice aroma and deep tobacco scent. Sweet and molasses are balanced with the coffee and malt but it wasn’t exactly what I was expecting. Bottle.

An absolute stunning offering by Evil Twin! The Even More Jesus recipe along with coffee is fantastic. The aroma is strong with coffee and cocoa with a jet black hue and a nice, small brown head. The taste is a medley of everything you find in the great Even More Jesus stout with dark fruit, chocolate, biscuit, and COFFEE! It is amazingly pleasing and taken in small doses. Your mouth is coated with a great aftertaste of espresso and chocolate. A superb Imperial Coffee Stout offering.
