3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Second version, brewed at 8% ABV only Very thick, putty-collapsing yellowish head over unclear copper-ochre beer; sporting some mean-looking UFO’s. Resiny & fruity (grapes, lytchee) hops. Much fruitier and yet drier smelling than the 10% version. Bitter, hoppy beer with a discreet(er) sweet malt underbuild. Again flavours of sweet-aromatic fruit, but ending on a harsher, resinous and even metallic bitterness backthroat. After a while, the mucoses adapt, and it becomes wholesome. Bit sharp MF, medium bodied, slick and (hop)oily finish. The nose being more inviting, but the flavour much more severe, it’s difficult to choose. I think I would go for the first version, after all. Txs, Ryan!
