Bottle pour at Rocket City Brewfest. Dark. almost black in color with a rich, brownish head. Strong aromas of earth, leather and roasted malt. Good solid flavor and full in the mouth. A mix of strong coffee, bitter chocolate, roasted malt, earthy loam and some spice - cloves or something. Slight bitterness but some sweetness as well. Complex mix of flavors - very satisfying.

Draft at Churchkey. Really nice nose with bitter roasted malt, spicy tobacco, earth, bitter chocolate, leather. The flavor is much the same but disappointingly thin; really lackluster in the mouthfeel. Good potential, just not quite rounded out.

Tap at Of Love & Regret. Inky black pour. Richer mocha foam. Bubbly retention. Nose is savory, tobacco, vanilla, chocolate covered cherries, saltwater, seaweed. Taste is very rich, velvety milk chocolate, spicy dark chocolate ganache, cinnamon, wet tobacco, coffee. Palate is thick, lactic, dense with dairy character. Really delicious. Nice one from Ryan and Jeppe. Send me some Justin Blabaer! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

NikkTwist (1745) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 3, 2012
Draft at Monks Cafe. Pitch black pour with about as dark a head as I have ever seen. Very dark and smooth. Bitter chocolate. Dark espresso. Burnt sugar. Vegemite. Nutella. Root flavors. Charcoal. Much fuller body than one would expect. Creamy finish. Almost a Russian Imperial. Very impressed. A tremendous porter!
