Previous bottled and distributed batches were 8.4% ABV.

Italy has a certain “je ne sais quoi” – fab food culture, highly decadent history of art and cool countryside. Some might argue the people are loud and flamboyant, they steal our women, and their soccer players melodramatically flop on the pitch. Listen – that’s all part of the secret Italian ingredient – keep it cool, confident, arrogant and extravagant. Forza Italia!

Malt beverage with almonds, vanilla beans and coffee added.

Bottle, 75 cl: Black beer with a large short-lived beige head. The aroma has notes of mild coffee, roasted malt, vanilla and chocolate, quite fruity. The taste is sweet with medium bitterness. Creamy texture, soft carbonation. Long soft slightly bitter finish. An almost cake-like, very delicious porter. Can’t realy taste the almonds, though...

Slow, but continuing gusher.
Pours all black with a big, frothy, beige head. Aroma is sweet, almonds, milky chocolate, light caramel and roasted malts. High carbonation, fine dry and light creamy palate. Flavour is sweet, French nougat, coffee, chocolate, milky, fairly dry cocoa notes, almonds and hazelnuts. Long, lingering malty bitter finish with soft warming notes. Nice, but too bad about the carbonation.

Chopp @ Dronning Louise. Pitch black colour, nice steady meadium thick dark brown head. Lovely aroma of veryv roasty malt, chocolate, coffee and dark fruit. Thick pleasant mouthfeel. The flavor is just so good: lots of roasted malt indeed with lots of chocolate and coffe along with dark fruit, alcohol and a good bitterness. Well lasting roasted malty chocolate coffee alco finish.

Served on draft at Westbrook Brewing Company. Pours a dark brown color with a thin dark brown head. Decent head retention. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, sweet malts and some toastiness. The taste is rich roasted malts, sweet malts, coffee, caramel and a hoppy finish. Medium-full bodied, rich, sweet and chewy. Nice beer.

Had a few sips of Travlr’s. Somehow, he asked me to guess the country and brewer, and I did so between smelling and tasting. Black with a little tan ring of head. Maybe there was more at first, but I came in when Travlr was half done with it. aroma is like dark roast and toast, which works for me. The taste is slightly roast, but also has an element of chocolate syrup, which I’m not sure how I feel about. Tiny bit of vanilla.

Bottle, 8.4%. Citric and roasted aroma. Black colour. Small light brown head. The flavour is nicely roasted, coffee with a mild molasses sweetness combined with sweet liquorice. Creamy aftertaste. Tastes a little bland after 250 other ratings.
