COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Editor’s Note: Replaced by Imperial Biscotti Break, which has a separate listing. This first edition was a porter made with espresso, vanilla and toasted almonds for the Beer cruise Rome-Barcelona, June 2011. Brewed at Fanø Bryghus, Denmark, 7.5% ABV. Previous bottled and distributed batches were 8.4% ABV.

Italy has a certain “je ne sais quoi” – fab food culture, highly decadent history of art and cool countryside. Some might argue the people are loud and flamboyant, they steal our women, and their soccer players melodramatically flop on the pitch. Listen – that’s all part of the secret Italian ingredient – keep it cool, confident, arrogant and extravagant. Forza Italia!

Malt beverage with almonds, vanilla beans and coffee added.

Bottle on new years eve this year with frumptydumpty and another one here tonight. Thanks Ryan. GUSHER!!!!!! Don’t remember this on new years eve, but my memory is slightly cloudy from that point in the night. Nose is coffee, roasted malt, light hops, vanilla. Flavor is similarly coffee dominated, roasted malts, some light tartness, a bit of booze, vanilla, cocoa. A little thin and boozy overall, but still drinkable.

Bottle (Big Gusher) at home - shared with Mette. Pitch black - light brown head. Coffee. Chocolate. Bisquit. Vanilla. Berries. Ok bitterness. Bitter burned malts. Fruity notes. Licorice notes. Ok sweetness. Light rotten fruits and sulfor aroma. Taste and finish is lovely.

had this beer on tap at the Local option a while back and then the Blue monk this past weekend. pours big brown with a nice tan head. nose is coffee and strong malts. mouthfeel is thick and creamy. flavor is like u r having a almond biscotti with your espresso just way creamier and with some booze added in there for fun. One of my fav beers.

Pouring at Lord Hobo after the Night of the Barrels on the Friday night of EBF 2012. Pours a deep black to brown with a thin to medium sized tanned beige head. Roast, cocoa, toasted almonds. Medium bodied, silky smooth, super fine carbonation. Chocolate, roast, toast, cocoa, almonds. Tastes just like a chocolate biscotti, cocoa and lingering roast.

draft at Blue Monk, Buffalo. dark creamy black pour, khaki head. chocolate heavy aroma, vanilla, hazelnuts. Creamy mouthfeel, chocolate heavy, vanilla. Very flavorful. Could use some roast to balance out chocolate/vanilla. Nicely made

On tap at local option. Pours black with a dark brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma is full of coffee and dark chocolate backed by roasted malt and a hint of vanilla. Flavor is full of bitter chocolate with some backing roasted malts and coffee. Nice on the tongue.

Bottle from Charleston Beer Exchange. Pours black with brown head. Nose/taste of freshly brewed coffee, toasted almonds, vanilla beans and roast chocolate malt. Great complex coffee, vanilla and almond mix on the palate. Bottle gushed a bit, but this is still my favorite beer from Evil Twin thus far. Medium body.

Pours dark chocolate with a thick dark crimson hue. There is virtually no head at all after a few minutes out of tap. The aroma is light sweet roasted coffee and malt notes. The flavor of roasted espresso and malts starts off nicely, then subtle vanilla notes continue, followed by a beautiful roasted and sweet chocolate ending. The body is just thick enough for a single porter to really enjoy.

Nearly opaque black with a small, tan head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malts, light smoke, vanilla, toffee, nuts, and light alcohol. Taste of roasted malts, some smoke, vanilla cream, and cocoa. Thin, and overall pretty lame, like everything else I had from evil twin.

Draft at Capone’s. Poured turbid black with minimal tan head. Nose was roasty patent malt, cacao, hazelnut, vanilla. Tasted rich, complex, with the malt, cacao, nutty hazelnut/walnut, and vanilla working synergistically to make this one a nice surprise, and a delicious holiday beer.
