Porter made with espresso, vanilla and toasted almonds for the Beer cruise Rome-Barcelona, June 2011. Italy has a certain “je ne sais quoi” – fab food culture, highly decadent history of art and cool countryside. Some might argue the people are loud and flamboyant, they steal our women, and their soccer players melodramatically flop on the pitch. Listen – that’s all part of the secret Italian ingredient – keep it cool, confident, arrogant and extravagant. Forza Italia!
Malt beverage with almonds, vanilla beans and coffee added.

Pours a black body with a huge, fluffy tan head. Aroma of chocolate, fresh ground coffee, almonds, caramel, slight roast and toffee. Taste starts out sweet chocolate, giving way to bitter coffee and bready maltyness. Finish is bitter with a nice aftertaste of coffee and chocolate. Medium body and soft carbonation.

Black with a big tan head. Aroma of toffee. vanilla and coffee - coming together a bit cappucino-like. Malty flavour, hard roasted, but still round and sweet. Lots of vanilla and some coffee. Slightly ashy aftertaste. Highly carbonated which doesn’t quite work

(Bottle) Pours black with a pale brown head. The aroma holds chocolate, coffee, vanilla, cookies, tar/asphalt, hints of raisins and some hoppy undertones. The flavour is light to medium sweet, medium bitter and tiny acidic with notes of coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla ice cream, cookies, mild asphalt and woodsy/resinous/citric hop. The mouthfeel is round and creamy with a light to medium carbonation. Vanilla and fairly balanced roast on the finish. Medium to full bodied.
