COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Editors note: the first edition was brewed at Fanø Bryghus, Denmark for the Beer cruise Rome-Barcelona, June 2011 and held 7.5% ABV.

Porter made with espresso, vanilla and toasted almonds for the Beer cruise Rome-Barcelona, June 2011. Italy has a certain “je ne sais quoi” – fab food culture, highly decadent history of art and cool countryside. Some might argue the people are loud and flamboyant, they steal our women, and their soccer players melodramatically flop on the pitch. Listen – that’s all part of the secret Italian ingredient – keep it cool, confident, arrogant and extravagant. Forza Italia!
Malt beverage with almonds, vanilla beans and coffee added.

Keg at CP&K. It pours jet black with a small tan head. The nose is roasted malt, toast, strong coffee almond and toasted coconut. The taste is pretty damn sweet, sugary coffee, toffee, caramel, wood, vanilla, banana, espresso, roasted malt, nut, toast and cola with a dry, bitter-sweet finish. It definitely comes together as biscotti. Full body, moderate carbonation and sticky mouth-feel. Flavoursome but pretty damn sweet and cloying. I can appreciate why others may really like this; it’s just not for me.

Bottle, shared with Bergen Beer Geek Tasting Crew. After buying this at Ølbutikken, Copenhagen, it feels really good to have Meilby bring it to the table, cheers man! :-) Pours a pitch black body with a huge beige creamy head. Sooo nice. Nose is almonds, biscuits, licorice, leather, coffee and hints of nuts and caramelized...caramel? :-P In any case, this is quite lovely. Taste is coffee, caramel, nuts, hints of buttery biscuits and ashes. Very nice. High carbonation, full body. A highly pleasant Italian-themed beer very far from most Italian crafts.

Super carbonated pour. Makes the mouthfeel a bit airy. Head is uncontrollable. Decent beer.

Pours pitch black with a tan head. Aroma has notes of carmael coffee, biscots, almonds, roasted malt, licorice and leather. Taste is medium to heavy sweet and light to medium bitter with a long caramel and coffee finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Aroma of vanilla, licorice and slight almond. Taste is almondy, coffee and vanilla with nice roast at the end. Had out of bottle and was waaaaay too carbonated. A little hard to experience the complexity but pleasant aftertaste.

Bottle at Schouskjelleren, spring 2012. Black, creamy light brown head. Looks delicious! High viscocity. Aroma of malt, almonds, chocolate. Heavy complex roasty taste, espresso, cocoa, nuts and vanilla. Fascinating stuff! Dry roasty finish, lasting aftertaste.

Dark opaque black color, good brown head. Roasted, cocoa aroma. Medium to full bodied. Some sweetish cocoa, tobacco, roasted maltyness. Nice rounded mouthfeel, lingering licorice in the aftertaste. Nice and quite easy

Vertical with Imperial Biscotti Break
Aroma has cocoa, some salty licorice and soy sauce. Palate is slightly too high on CO2. Flavour has salty licorice, some soy sauce, hints of non‐disturbing alcohol and coffee. Good.
