Editor’s Note: Replaced by Imperial Biscotti Break, which has a separate listing. Previous bottled and distributed batches were 8.4% ABV.

Italy has a certain “je ne sais quoi” – fab food culture, highly decadent history of art and cool countryside. Some might argue the people are loud and flamboyant, they steal our women, and their soccer players melodramatically flop on the pitch. Listen – that’s all part of the secret Italian ingredient – keep it cool, confident, arrogant and extravagant. Forza Italia!

Malt beverage with almonds, vanilla beans and coffee added.

I wouldn’t like it if every imperial porter tasted like this (not that they could), but something this decadent is a real treat in moderation. A true dessert beer, chocolate, vanilla, creamy, rich, and dark. Delicious. Tried at the bier station in KC.

Great imperial porter! Really chicolately aroma almost coffee like. The taste is chocolatelty and hints of coffee. A little toasty background. Sligthly sweet but I like it!

This beer is like heaven. Smells like mocha. Pours nearly black with thick, creamy head. Tastes of chocolate, coffee, cream, cinnamon, molasses, and perfection. Finishes clean and easy. Get this beer.

Pours dark black with a perfect brown head formed of tiny bubbles with incredible retention. Aroma is coffee, chocolate, nuts, smoke, and earth. Taste is smoke, chocolate, coffee, leather, rich roasted malt, and nutty on the finish. Body is full, creamy, average carbonation, super smooth bitter coffee finish. Overall, super rich, damn near perfect, awesome use of almonds in a beer.

Draft @ beertemple. Aroma is huge mocca coffee roasty espresso madness. Perculator. Flavour is deep roasty mocca, very smooth and creamy, medium sweet at first, followed by a short but intense coffee and roast bitterness. Lingering mocca and roast. Awesome.

Bottle from Vintner wine market. Pours black with a half inch of brown foam. Big almond and chocolate notes on the nose. Massive chocolate and almond on the tongue. Hides the alcohol very well. Extremely nice!

Appearance: A complete absence of light on the other side of this one. A nice small beige head that leaves an ok lacing.
Aroma: Coffee, chocolate and caramel.
Palate: Full body. Slightly sweet with a mild bitterness. Soft carbonation. Creamy texture.
Taste: Espresso, crème brulee, ice cream and chocolate.
Overall impression: Solid stuff! No point eating crème brulee when I can have both together in this lovely brew.
Personal stats: On tap @ Crowbar in Oslo, Norway

Awesome beer. Smelled of baked goods, which I would say is a good thing considering it has ’biscotti’ in the title. Heavy drink with strong coffee, cake, and some bitter taste as well. I would say there was a bit of a vanilla flavor as well. Thoroughly enjoyed this. Would put it up there as one of the best that I have had.
