Editor’s Note: Replaced by Imperial Biscotti Break, which has a separate listing. This first edition was a porter made with espresso, vanilla and toasted almonds for the Beer cruise Rome-Barcelona, June 2011. Brewed at Fanø Bryghus, Denmark, 7.5% ABV. Previous bottled and distributed batches were 8.4% ABV.

Italy has a certain “je ne sais quoi” – fab food culture, highly decadent history of art and cool countryside. Some might argue the people are loud and flamboyant, they steal our women, and their soccer players melodramatically flop on the pitch. Listen – that’s all part of the secret Italian ingredient – keep it cool, confident, arrogant and extravagant. Forza Italia!

Great imperial porter! Really chicolately aroma almost coffee like. The taste is chocolatelty and hints of coffee. A little toasty background. Sligthly sweet but I like it!

Pours blacker then then the darkest night with a milk chocolate head aromas of coffee, vanilla, almond expresso flavors match the aromas with sweetness and molasses. Outstanding beer

Bottle. Pours black/brown with a huge foamy brown head. a gusher that never ended. Aroma of chocolate, coffee and vanilla. flavor was sweet with chocolate, vanilla, coffee, roasted malts and notes of some smokiness. Silky smooth texture, medium body, dry finish.

Awesome beer. Smelled of baked goods, which I would say is a good thing considering it has ’biscotti’ in the title. Heavy drink with strong coffee, cake, and some bitter taste as well. I would say there was a bit of a vanilla flavor as well. Thoroughly enjoyed this. Would put it up there as one of the best that I have had.

Smell is a mix between dark roasted flavor and dark fruits, good mix and diverse flavors! Touch of vanilla, taste is smooth and of vanilla, touch of hot alcohol, bitter roasted finish...could be better

@ Havregatan 150117. Bottle (650 ml) fromSystembolaget. Roasted malty with lots of chocolate and vanilla, sweet, full body with an oily texture. The finish is dry, bittern roasted with chocolate. Really tasty!

On tap at pizzeria paradisio it is a dark brown with no head. The aroma is chocolate and the taste is a dark chocolate with some sweet molasses overtones
