Black pour with espresso creme like head. Aroma is coffee and whiskey. I am happy I chose this beer as my finisher. Taste explodes dark coffee, chocolate and coffee. I am warming up to stout beers, especially when they are balanced like this beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Wow, what the hell is with all the beers from this brewer? I think of the Michťlin 3-star restaurants and they donít even have a mťnu, you just sit down and they serve you and you pay them three-hundred dollars. So it makes me suspicious when a brewer is crazy about so many editions of their beer, seriously, I honestly hope for simplicity. This pours absolutely jet-black with a brownish head, a great imperial porter pour if I ever did seen one. The aroma is bright fusel alcohol, lots of barley and alcohol, hopes and dreams but sadly no reality on the back end to make you want to believe itís all four-real indeed in the drinking-scheme. The flavour is a lot of sweet malt, sweet barley, cherry flavour thanks to the high alcohol. A lot of major booze-ish barley mess that really isnít balanced, isnít where it should be. No nuance. Just a pile of over-alcoholized barley malt, and sure thatís okay but itís not a symphony, itís not a play put on by artists. And that, indeed, makes me sad.

Bottle. Big thanks to whichever Dad shared this bad boy at Torst... GT or Jay or J-Dad, I think. Pours near black with a beige head. Rich sweet malts and bourbon, lighter roasted malts, dark fruits, and wood. Big bourbon and wood and port wine in the finish. Solid.

Bottle at TÝrst with Max, Ramy, GT & Whitney, Podey, Andy, Pearl, James, J-Dad, and maybe some others later. Pours a deep black with some buttery hued caramel edging. Warm bourbon, roast, cocoa, chocolate, warm malt and chewy roast. Big and warm, loads of malt, a bit of umami. Slightly salty, warm ruddy malt. Utterly delicious, lingering wood and bourbon on the finish, more umami. Lovely stuff.

330mL at Torst. Full ink pour. Ring of red mocha foam. Nose has intense salt cured black olive, mild porcini mushroom, soy, black cherry. Taste is melted dark chocolate bar, very rich, excellent bitterness to balance. Palate is excellent as always with this series, mega silky and bitter. Long, drying wood in the finish makes this less stellar than the other variants. Warming bourbon heat accompanies the dry woodiness.

Bottle at Torst courtesy of Clockwork with the RB crew. Pours pith black body with no head. Light wispy brown lacing. Aroma is bourbon heat and light chocolate. Mouthfeel is medium to rich with notes of sweet chocolate, light roast and a TON of bourbon. A button much for personal Preference, but still a very solid bourbon-treated stout.
