Bottle. This is one of those beers that makes your eyes water; aromatic whiffs as strong as cascades of caramel and toffee, taste heavenly rich yet, and this is fantastic, dry. The taste lasts and lasts. And lasts. I will try this again when I have the chance!

Perfect beer. Chocolate and vanilla, and a very long finish. Perfectly balanced

Denne øl har et mørkt udseende med et svagt hvidt skum. Øllen smager af chokolade og lakrids, hvilket giver den en cremet fornemmelse og smag. Lav karbonering.

Bottle from Bottle Shop at home, and had taste on tap too (which may have been better). Thick black pour with persistent thin tan head. Aroma is rich dark fruit stout - booze too. But with a hint of something different - some herbal hops. Taste follows, less nuanced in bottle than on tap mah e. Some dark fruit, big bitterness, maybe even sourness. Very solid. More interesting, and not as heavy or sweet as I might've thought. Also not cheesy "Christmas" spices, more herbal or vegetal in a good way.

Drank with Matt after the Vectr Xmas party. Pitch black, medium dark beige creamy head with significant bubbles, spotty legs. Smells of very roasty cereal dark malt, medium plum and stone fruit, medium herbal hop, booze, faint dark soy sauce. Like the creamy roastiness. Taste is quite bitter, moderate spice, very faint coffee and citrus, kind of boring compared to the nose. Body is spicy, bitter, medium to thick.

Deep black, foamy tan head. Moderate retention, spotty lacing. Aroma of licorice, nutmeg, gingerbread. Taste is sweet, gingerbread, molasses, nutmeg. Finishes with a bit of heat, not an abrupt finish but it doesn’t really longer. Was expecting a standard imperial stout, but was pleasantly surprised. Very good.

Tykk konsistens, lite/passe karbonert.

Draft at Lizardville sampler. Pours a deep dark brown with a very mocha thick head. Aroma is big burnt/roasted malts, dark chocolate, coffee grounds, and hint of vanilla. Taste is much the same with the big roasted malts dominant, dark chocolate bitterness, some coffee and a hint of sweetness such as vanilla or sweet milks. Moderate mouth, bitter dark chocolate finish. Mild carb. Well rounded and big roast all around.

2015-12-12. Black body with a nice foamy brown head that fades leaving very light lace. 3++ Aroma is interesting mix of dark malt, roast, cocoa and chocolate and muted alcohol. 7++ Flavour is fairly rich, nice dark malt core, bitter roast and dark chocolate. Lingering bitterness but lovely sweet core. Big but surprisingly subtle. Bitterness masks much of the alcohol presence which sneakily builds, warming the palate. Medium to full bodied palate, good carbonation. 3++ Deceptively simple but very nice. 7/4/8/4/15-16+ Bottle at Bellwoods, Toronto.
