Deep black with tan head. Aroma had some light tar and boozy feel. A touch sweet. Bitter ending. The middle is perfect with chocolate and some coffee and there is what seems like effervescence. A rich feel. Tap

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Dark fruitcake, rich chocolate lava cake, sweet licorice, vanilla, cherry and a wee bit o’ tobacco. A sleeper, you wouldn’t know this velour fog packs so much heat under its sexy wrapping paper. All aromatics are present in flavour but I also get a smooth coffee twang in the mix. Most excellent, this ale owns a syrupy but not cloying mouthfeel, gentle carbonation lets this baby just rest on the palate.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
bottle into my birthday Prairie snifter. Thanks mom! Nose is dark chocolate and roast. Sip adds licorice, dark fruit and more chocolate. complex bitterness of the dark chocolate variety. Slight toast aftertaste. Dark not in the color, but in the mood. Slight booziness after a few sips. Pairs well with music from Rosetta Stone (the band).

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
High and long lasting creamy light brown head. Pitch black body. If you like coffee this is definately a brew for you. The aroma is absolutely of a powerful roasted cofee. Flavor is also of coffee but in addition has creamy and bitterr notes. Low carbonation. Long aftertaste. Alcohol well hidden. Nice balance.

3.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle@home, from WineSpot, Cleveland, USA. Medium/strong slightly bitter but smooth aroma of coffee and licorice. Pitch black color with minimal beige head. Strong bit bitter taste of coffee, licorice and slightly roasted malts. A hint of raisin. Medium balanced. Wide taste spectrum and long aftertaste with roasted malts and licorice. Strong/medium body with medium carbonation. Overall not as smooth as the aroma promised, also the body could be stronger. Other vice nice high quality though ordinary IS.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a half finger of tan head on a black body.
The aroma is rich chocolate, caramel and milk.
The taste is bitter chocolate and coffee to start, mildly sweet middle and finishes bitter with the alcohol heat lingering. An aggressive profile.
The texture is thick.
It smells great, and the big flavors make this a sipper.
