4.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Bottle. Pours a thick and near black color with a smallish dark tan head. Nose has some great roasting and coffee elements to it with some light and subtle bitterness being present underneath. Taste is a little bitter and almost burnt, but still very roasty with a very subtle sweetness finishing it. I like it.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Medium to low carbonation. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, slight burnt/toasted oats. Hint of citrus and red fruits. Taste is rich and complex mix of same flavors as aroma. Slightly sour citrus bitterness in the finish and aftertaste. Alcohol apparent but not dominating. Slick and oily mouthfeel with less than average carbonation. Overall very balanced and nice. Like a classic British Double Brown Stout, but with a modern hint of citrus hops.

Bottle - Dark brown, almost black in colour. Coffee, plain chocolate and liquorice in the aroma. Rich and roasted taste with coffee, Bournville chocolate and roasted malt all featuring in the smooth taste. Easy to drink. Doesn’t taste like it’s 10%.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
’12 I think. Dark slightly translucent on edges. Persistent head. Nose of espresso, dried fig. Leads very sweet, then bitter burnt coffee kicks in and finishes incredibly long with a lot of raisiny sweetness and coffee bitterness. Really nice savory qualities. Loooong. Great interplay of sweet and bitter.

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft at Monks. Tulip. Nearly opaque brown pour. Large foamy brown head. Lace at the top. Dark cocoa. Liquorice. Tootsie Roll. Burnt marshmallow. Sweet black ash. Vinyl. Slight smoke.I Might be having a bit too cold as there is little aroma and the body reads thinner than expected. Nice, but does not feel exceptional to me (for Evil Twin at least).

Bottle shared with Yanick on Christmas eve. Pours black with brown head. Nose/taste of roast chocolate, cocoa, black licorice, vanilla and burnt wood. Body a little on the thinner side for an imperial, but overall a very solid stout with a heavy roast character. Hints of Christmas spices in the background.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
330. Pours jet black with a dense and creamy tan head that falls quickly away to a thin ring. Huge roasty ashy nose, just enough sweetness there to balance. Creamy thick body, soft carb. Super roasty dry mid palate, sweetness mainly in a baking chocolate way. Long dry finish. Very nice. Like a bigger, tidier old raspy. Still very approachable.
