Garlic_of_Doom (448) - SWEDEN - NOV 19, 2013
UPDATED: APR 9, 2014 Bottle. Black with a thick redbrown coloured head, rest down quick. The bubbles are so tiny! Liquorice, car tire rubber, dark chocolate, raisins and slight alcohol in aroma. Taste has dark chocolate, loads of roasted malt, vinous notes, raisins, bitter hops, slightly tongue numbing at the end. Full body, soft carbonation, thick and smooth mouthfeel. Long lasting bitter finish.

Chuckaduck (645) - Highland Heights, Kentucky, USA - NOV 17, 2013
Bottled 8/23/13. Poured 11/17/13. Oily dark brown-black with a fluffy, dense chocolate head. Aroma is creamy, cocoa, berries, coffee, dry, effervescent, nice aromatics. Taste is bitter chocolate, coffee, dark berries, creamy, a tad chalky, flavorful, not overly sweet; finish is dark berries and bitter chocolate. Chewy mouth feel. Light lacing; surprising that it isn’t more dense. Medium-low carbonation. Thin-bodied. Nice.

Big, chocolaty, roasty. Bigger body hides the abv with a plesant sweetness. A great treat, really want a bourbon barrel version!

A- pours a fluid opaque coffee brown with lighter cola brown edges and a faint medium tan head. No lacing. S- coffee, baker's chocolate, roasted malts, smoke, arid earth, chalk, anise, vegetal and grains. Light tangy cacao, wood and raisins in the back. M- medium oily body with a light to medium sticky, dry and sweet palate. Mild carbonation. T- coffee, dirt and chalk up front. Hops push through in the middle with the bitter sweet chocolate, and cacao. Entry into the long bitter end is slightly sweeter mocha. Cocoa powder makes up the bulk of the finish with warm spicy oak and more hop notes.

Black pour with a thin khaki head. The nose is syrupy and roasty with a bit of anise. Flavor is equally syrupy with some smoke and anise and molasses and black licorice...pretty much every stouty flavor except coffee and chocolate. Bit of a shame really. Thick and a wee bit syrupy boozy.
