330ml bottle from Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury. Pours black with a fluffy tan head. Lovely toffee and marzipan aroma. Thick and oily mouthfeel. Big heavy chocolate taste with espresso notes and smooth roasted elements. Very much enjoyed this.

Bottle from The Bottle Shop London and drunk at home. Black beer lasting tan head. Big chocolate aroma, some booze too. In the mouth itís mostly chocolate and alcohol. I mean itís not overly subtle or complex. Itís a big roast chocolate beer. Has a shade of Speyside whisky to the aroma. Itís big. Bold. Bit too boozy for me I think. Itís a sipper and as I read my book itís a good beer to have a sip of from time to time, but not really my thing.

Bottle. Very dark brown with a thin beige foam. Aromas are earthy coffee with dark toffee and soy sauce. Raisins with chocolate and marzipan alcohol. Blackberries with woody yeast. Flavours are sweet chocolate with rich, smooth coffee and a light smokiness. Slick oily and slightly meaty with a spicy, peppery alcohol finish. Hints of vegetable fat. Good.

Pours a thick black beer with a big dark brown fine head. Smells dark malts, chocolate, coffee and a hint of vanilla. Tastes malt bitter. Leaves a bitter palate, big mouth feel and clear touch of alcohol. Really intense imperial stout!

This is a really nice imperial stout.. Very decadent. Another winner by evil twin. Pours black with lots of head.. Thick. Aromas are sweet vanilla, milk chocolate, strawberry milk, dark fruit. Flavors are cocoa, cream, dark fruit, red berries.. But not too sweet.. This is damn good.

Aromas of roasted malts, liquid yeast, roasted chocolate, coffee oils and subtle vanilla. Appears black with a thin brown foam. Taste is extremely roast forward with notes of chocolate, toffee, dry roasted coffee, dark roasted malts, burnt caramel, earthy charcoal and fudge brownie. Overall, this is a very solid imperial stout mostly dominated by roast characteristics. Finishes boozy with more dark chocolate roast. B+ rating.

Backlogged rating (Naked Lunch); Bottle and served in snifter. Pours a very deep brown with a long lasting creamy tan head and very good lace. The beer is smoothy sweet with lots of mocha and caramel notes slightly balanced by moderate roast and char. Some dark fruits and a touch of earthy tobacco notes too. The aroma is a tad weaker than the flavor profile and the ashy finish is a bit distracting but overall a darn solid no thrills Imperial.
