Bottle courtesy of James. Probably the last of hundreds of beers sampled at his house in Meddy. Pour was dark brown/black with beige head. Carbonation was vivacious, palate med to med/thin... Cocoa, earthy, malty.

Yorker (1192) - Herning, DENMARK - APR 4, 2012
33 cl bottle @ home. Pours black with a big mocha coloured head that eventually disappears (there’s a small amount of sediment floating around). Aroma is nutty with plenty of roasted malts + some coffee and chocolate with just a hint of hops. Taste is roasted coffee and bitter chocolate.

ROGUE (2099) - Newark, Delaware, USA - MAR 27, 2012
11.2oz bottle. Poured a deep black color with a large light chocolate head that retained well and left sticky lacing. Aroma of coffee grounds, dark malts, licorice, earth, and ash. Tasted of roasty malts, coffee, bitter chocolate and a bit of smoke. The alcohol is well masked. The body is on the thick side with tingly, smooth carbonation and a dry finish.

Quite a delicious stout this is. It is jet black with a creamy head that is almost brown. It tastes of coffee and dark chocolate with a spicy vanilla undertone that adds a wonderful complexity. Exceedingly smooth and delicious.

Bottle from Belmont Station. Pours black with a 3 finger creamy darkish tan head. Aromas of chocolate, treacle, and maybe anise. Full bodied. Flavors of chocolate, coffee, treacle and maybe anise. Probably anise. The burnt malt is sort of mocha. Very interesting stuff.

Dogbrick (8141) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - MAR 12, 2012
This brew is a brownish-black color with a medium creamy light brown head that recedes slowly to an outer ring. Small patches of lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of roasted coffee, chocolate and a bit of hops. Full-bodied and smooth with a roasty character and notes of bittersweet chocolate, coffee, licorice and hops. The finish is charred malt and coffee. Pretty good overall.

Black color, brownish head. Dusty aroma of roasted and burnt malt. Good body, with strong flavor of roasted malts, dark chocolate; a bit dusty, and with some salty liquorish. Not my kind, a bit too roasty, missing some alternative dimension.
