3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle shared with (and courtasy of) the brewers of Bådin. Pours a black colour with a small, light brown head. Aroma of coffee, dark chocolate, lactose, some meat and nice roasted malt in the end. The flavour has more roasted malt and is pretty nice. Slick and rich mouth feel, and the bitterness is light. A well-balanced IS with a wonderful roastedness.

bottled as advertised on 08/23/13, yes the american system and not the euro system 23/08/13.. that makes no sense. pours deep black with a thin tan head that reduces to an oil slick like cap. toffee, roasted malt, light caramel, slight astringency and solid bitterness. body seems a bit thin but otherwise good.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours with a black pour and a deep brown head that fades. Aromas are of iodine, bakers chocolate, deep roast, fudge, dark fruit, licorice, dry, nutty, ashy. Peanut shells. Flavors are dry, quite bitter, astringent, lightly smokey, metallic, campfire. Quite an acrid and heavy handed roast malt character. Quite boozy. Some dark fruit. Dry peanut shells. Somewhat fizzy with medium viscosity. Not my style of imperial stout.

5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
Lots of cacao, chocolate, dried brown fruits (prune, date, fig), coffee and a rich, creamy body that eases into a very dry (but not quite austere finish.
Another fine Evil Twin offering.
