4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. Clear, very dark, chestnut brown. Film and halo of sticky, light brown head. Cherry truffle. Wet leather. Milk chocolate. White chocolate. Some vanilla. Bit of burnt meatiness. Unputdownable. Taste is bittersweet dark chocolate. Smooth, rich, silky palate. There’s a green, light bitter hoppiness behind all this, that keeps things getting too sickly. Finishes long, dark chocolate bitter. Not too sweet, or rich, and silly drinkable.

Bottle, 2014 vintage. Roasted malt aroma with smoke and chocolate notes. Pours black with a thin light brown head with some lacing. Starts with rich chocolate and roasted malt flavor. Finishes smooth with smokey flavor coming through with the chocolate and the roastiness. Good imperial stout!

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle (12oz $4): Black with tan head. Not remembering the details other than it was a good (average) Imperial Stout.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Poured from bottle into Teku glass. I was not expecting much from this since i was not a fan of ILWMS, but ended up really enjoying it. Moderate sharp carbonation, decent body. Heavy roast that is bold, but doesn’t cross the line to being obnoxious. A very nice sweet maltiness balances out the beer. It’s flavorful and intense, but it never overwhelms you like ILWMS. Exercising a bit of restraint with this one did wonders.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz bottle shared. Pours a jet black with a patchy tan head. Very smokey stout. Big roasted malt aroma. Roasted and smokey flavor, though lighter in body. A bit of caramel. A lot going on in this one. Good beer.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle (12 oz). As "Naked Lunch in a Copenhagen Heavenly Resto". From Sammy, thanks!
Appearance: Pitch black with a medium thick brown head and little lacing.
Aroma: Ashes is dominant, tobacco, roasted malt, dark chocolate and liquorice.
Taste: Ashes is the main flavor too. Tobacco, roasted malt, dark chocolate, liquorice and light bitterness.
Palate: Medium to full body. Medium carbonation. Silky/velvety mouthfeel. Long lasting ashy finish.
Overall: Lack a bit of balance, mainly because it’s too ashy. Not overly complex either. Not a fiasco, just a forgettable and average Imperial Stout.
