On tap at Ei8ht Ball. Pours black with a thin tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate malt, booze, salty pretzel. Flavor is a little sweeter- more booze, vanilla, roasted malt, charred malt, bitter chocolate. A little heavy but still complex and interesting. 7/4/8/4/14 (3.7/5)

Bottle @ home shared by LeninCat. Thanks Lenin! Pours a deep brown appearance with a brown head. Marshmallow, advise, dark chocolate, toffee aroma. The flavor has a fair amount of caramelized sugars along with some coconut, dark fruit, and roasty notes. Drinks pretty good.

Bottle at CBC Clerkenwell at the Evil Twin meet the brewer event. Pours black with a thick tan head leaving great lacing. Nose is full of milk chocolate, liquorice and sticky toffee. Taste is silky smooth vanilla and milk chocolate followed by light aniseed and thick caramel. Quite decadent stuff but has a nice ashy undertone to it to balance out the sweetness. Very good stuff

Black of color with a small brown head. An aroma of tar, dark chocolate, roasted malt, liqurice and salty. A flavor of roasted malt, liqurice, sweets, weak bitterness, weak alcohol and oily texture.

Bottle poured a clear dark reddish brown with a lasting brown head. Aromas of roasted malt, bakers cocoa, light smoke and light coffee. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of roasted malt, bitter chocolate, ashes and a hint of coffee with a smooth lingering chocolate finish.

12oz bottle courtesy of Sammy. Thanks. Pours a dense black color with a medium sized brown head that has good retention. The aroma is strong and distinct with chocolates and dark fruits. The taste features, dark bitter chocolates, mocha, coffee, raisins, roasted black walnuts and burnt toast. The palate is full, viscous and creamy smooth with soft carbonation. Finishes long and roasty. Overall: I thought that this was exceptional--thanks again Sammy.

On tap. From notes. A: Black as Hades with a thin head. N: Cocoa, coffee, band aids, smoke and campfire. Not complex, but good. T: Smokey sweet with an espresso bitterness to clear things up. O: Sticky and oily. One of the best mouthfeels Ive encountered. M: A smokey concoction that remind of a Coal Islay. Im a big fan of those whiskies, but this may not float the boat of those who arent.

Draft in a sampler at Ei8ht Ball. Ive seen a lot of Evil Twin on tap there, which is good, because I rarely feel like popping for a bottle or full pour. Pours a deep, basically opaque midnight brown with a lighter brown head. The aroma and initial flavor indicate that this is an extremely roasted beer, almost smoky, but it settles down quickly. Smoother milk and dark chocolate, earthy hops, and some toasted sugars. Medium-full bodied, with a roasty, lightly bitter, smooth mouthfeel and modest carbonation. Good imperial stout.

Black colour with a light beige head with medium lasting and moderate lacework.Aroma is coffee and black chocolate. Flavor is... acidic..., infected. I will try again. A pity...
