Bottle. My plans of having this on Christmas Eve did not work out, oh well. Inky black with decent sized foamy tan head, roasted malt aroma, medium carbonation, sweetish mocha taste with significant roasted malt towards the end, full body, oily texture, faint alcohol undertones, long mocha finish. Incredibly fulfilling.

Aroma: very sweet, fruity, full of black currant, grapes even red apple juicy notes. A touch of coffee and chocolate in the back. Itís very pleasant aroma, but very unusual for an imperial stout. Appearance: pitch black, non-transparent, poor quality brown head, nice lacing. Taste: not SO fruity, but still a bit. Much more coffee and chocolate flavours. It reminds me of bonbons with sherry liquor in them. Itís half dry. Calm and pleasant bitterness in the aftertaste. Palate: medium, half full body, perfectly carbonated, alcohol very well covered, warms only from the inside. Overall: I like it. Itís not mind blowing like Imperial Biscotti Break obviously, but still really good, worth trying Imperial Stout.

12 fl oz bottle from HK Brewcraft. Pours pitch black with stable tan head. Strong alcoholic imperial stout. Very complex and balanced, but 10% ABV is too high for my liking.

Bottle at Volo. Stout brown with a solid brown head. The aroma is surprisingly mild, and doesnít give much away. Once tasted, the body jumps out in front of the flavour. Itís full, creamy, smooth - without the enhancement of any apparent alcohol. This beerís complexity reveals itself as the beer warms. Coffee, tobacco, booze, roast. More and more booze, actually, as it warms. But then it levels out again. Only the fact that the flavours are muddled, rather than distinct, keeps this from being a great beer.

UPDATED: JUN 5, 2016 Drank 13-1-2016 after hanging out with Marijn, nagenieten :). Good stout, enjoyable. A bit harshly bitter, but very rich, complex taste and a nice body. Edit: rated higher after drinking with Rik 01-06-16 while watching Castle (thanks for sharing!).

Bottle - deep black with a fizzy dark brown head which falls in on itself, collapsing to a thin ring. Aroma of oak, vanilla, chocolate and whisky. Taste of oak, whisky, coffee, dark chocolate and roasted malts to begin, followed by some earthy, lightly floral notes and a little bourbon in the finish. Mild lingering bitterness. Medium body, medium carbonation, silky and warming.

Bottle from Favourite Beers, Cheltenham @ home. Black with tan/coffee head. Roast, malt, leather, licorice, smoke aroma. Medium to full body, low/medium carbonation. Roast, malt, licorice, raisin, fig and subtle smoke taste, all blending more with warmth and reduction in carbonation. Rich and tasty. Savoured to the bottom of the glass.
