Oily black pour with a 3 finger, dense, creamy, oily mocha brown head. Aroma is huge on roasted nuts, chocolate, mild coffee, earthy wood, smoke, roast, char, dark caramel and just a hint of herbal, floral hops. The fist sip starts of with tons of sweet milk chocolate, turning darker as it goes, lots of roasted nuts, dark coffee, dark caramel then the lightly bitter roast, char and burnt sugar kick in followed by earthiness. Finishes with cocoa and some grassy, floral, pine and herbal hop notes. Heavy body with a creamy to chewy entry, light, blanketing and slightly sharp carbonation, nice alcohol warmth without being overly boozy and a still creamy and chewy, but slightly char-dry finish. Really good stuff, probably something I will try again.

Modest pinkish tan head, near black body w ruby edge, small pads on glassware. Aroma of chocolate, dark fruits, dark roasted malts, cherries, oak, floral hops. Tastes a bowl of dark dried fruits, quickly followed by fruity dark chocolate, well blended, hazelnut oils, bourbon notes, cocoa notes. Finishes with dark chocolate, dry raisins, oh whatta black juice this is. Soft carbonation, half dry feel and solid body. Abv dangerously well hidden, but my head told me to stop in time. Beer tasting@Svijet piva, Zagreb. 0.33 bottle shared with Niko. Pitch black, small brown-tan head, like tan spots on the surface, went away quickly. Strong caramel aroma, dark bread, chocolate and dried plums. Taste is licorice, bitter with toffee sweetness. Very complex. Incredibly full body, long lasting bitter finish. Some might find this lingering bitterness to much, but it’s just what I like about this imperial stout. Almost perfect!

12fl oz bottle at home from de Molen, Bodegraven. Body is black, head is very small, brownish, mostly diminishing, fair lacing. Nose is coffee, flavor is mild coffee, bonbon, chocolate, toffee. Light to medium sweet, medium to heavy bitter. Finish is medium lasting bitter, chocolate, light coffee, berry, light alcohol, watery side taste. Full body, thin slightly sticky texture, nearly flat carbonation. Easy dessert beer, good one.
