Bottle at home, 17th June 16. Pours viscous and black. Aroma is liquorice, leather, roasty malts. Taste is full and rich, slick, liquorice, dark chocolate bitter and sweet. Really solid straight to the point impy.

Maris (1382) - Canberra, AUSTRALIA - JUN 18, 2016
From a 355ml bottle on 18/6/2016. Pours the deepest brown with a small tan head. The aroma is quite sharp and roasty with light caramel and some soy. In the mouth, it features masses of roasted malt, with some burnt notes, dark fruit, soy, and chocolate. The texture is syrupy and the carbonation soft. All up, it’s a more than decent, quite bold impy, without being special (like their Love You With My Stout that I downed the other night). Great name for a beer though.

Feb. ’16. A 0.355 l bottle. It poured very dark brown, almost black body with medium sized brown head. Fine coffee aroma, with other roasted malt like dried fruits, rye bread, cocoa and licorice. Lightly sweet flavor, cocoa was dominating with cappuccino, raisins and licorice turning into alcohol warming in the finish. Quite smooth on palate. Medium to full in body with long pleasantly roasted and lightly herbal dry finish. Clean, flawless, without any extravagant things, just a plainly typical, but very enjoyable IS!

Bottle at home. Aroma is dark malt, cocoa, chocolate, fruity hops, roast, coffee, touch of liquorice. Flavour is moderate sweet with a nicely bitter finish. Body is medium to full. Surprisingly hoppy, Stout flavours seem a bit restrained at first, until you realize just how well-balanced and drinkable this beer is.

maley1 (1136) - Calgary, CANADA - JUN 10, 2016
Dark brown viscous pour with a small tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, slight coffee and faint hops. Taste of roasted malts, unsweetened chocolate, slight coffee, soya sauce, faint licorice and faint bitter hop finish. Full bodied, medium carbonation, creamy thick mouthfeel, nicely balanced. Nothing spectacular here just a nice solid imperial stout.

090616. The makeup of this beer is almost as heavy and deep as the name of the beer, certainly one of the more unusual beer names going around at the moment. Not that this should surprise anyone. When I had this beer that I bought from Beer Cartel it wasn’t Christmas Eve, I wasn’t in New York and I wasn’t in a hotel room - not that any of that stopped me from enjoying this beer immensely. This is a beer that is big in every sense of the word, big deep black colour that reflects the light back at you, big dark chocolate and coffee aromas that fill your nose, big flavours of coffee beans, cocoa and vanilla and a big hit of alcohol - like I said - big. The thickness of this beer leaves a coating along the roof of your mouth and the flavour secrets itself into every pore of your mouth. A deep dense black colour with a thin line of tan foam this beer sits there and almost dares you to drink it. Enjoyable from the first sip to the last.

Bottle 33cl, a dark beer with medium copper head, nose is very nice on dark chocolate and creamy notes. As ever with Evil Twin, his imperial stout are properly done, each time tasty, clear dark chocolate notes, creamy mouse feel, licorice, roasted finish. In the "More Jesus" direction, excellent stuff, just nice and robust.

33cl bottle. Pitch black pour with a medium height tan head with modest retention. Notes of dark chocolate, roasted malts, some dark cherries, molasses and licorice. The alcohol could be a bit more hidden, but otherwise this is a solid beer, smooth mouthfeel, full bodied and with a chocolate bitter-sweet taste.
