330ml Bottle: Aroma of malt, chocolate, roasting, and light vanilla. Poured pitch black in color with a a tiny, almost non-existent, brown head around the edges only. Opaque. Very, very slightly sparkling. Flavor is lightly sweet and lightly bitter. Tastes of malt, roasting, chocolate, coffee, light hops, and ash. Medium body. Thin, slick, oily, then lightly dry texture. Flat to soft carbonation. Malt, roast, chocolate, coffee, finish is lightly sweet and lightly bitter. 10%ABV is completely hidden throughout.

Excellent! Opened at a good temperature and it was an enthusiastic gusher!! Poured a colossal, foamy, frothy, fluffy, tan head that settled very slowly. The bottle is about 20% full and is STILL gushing!! Wow. Color is an opaque black brown. Aroma is roast, malt, cocoa, coffee, toffee, vanilla. Flavor’s like nose, smooth, balanced and has a light bittersweet on top cut with perfect carbonic tang. Body is full, lush, round and just right. Finish is like flavor, average length, and has some boozy warmth. Yum! Though I wish more wouldv’e gone into the glass v the sink.

5/30/12. 12oz bottle. Dark black pour with a nice brown head. Slightly tart aroma with chocolate, coffee, and smokey band aids. More tartness and acidity with an even bolder charred/smokey aspect in the flavor. Surprisingly thin mouthfeel. Eh.

On tap at Livermore Saloon. It pours a very dark brown/black with a nice tan head. The aroma jumps out with big time licorice, toast and a touch of chocolate. The flavor is nicely balanced with toast, licorice, anise, earthy bitterness and a dirty, roasted ashy finish. The body is full, but the beer remains utterly drinkable. Really ,really well done.

Pours with a super thick dark dark brown head. Looks, smells, and tastes like a great imperial. Sweet and bitter. Carbonation bites back a little more than I like but still very good. My first evil twin. Yum.

Pours pitch black with a small but thick tan head that recedes to a small cap and leaves only spotty lacing. The aroma is typical Danish impy stout, at least to me, with lots of heavily roasted malts, almost charred really. Some bitter chocolate notes and dark fruit. Taste mirrors the aroma with tons of roasted malts. Really roasty - espresso mixed with bakers chocolate. Plenty of licorice as well. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with soft carbonation. I always enjoy these Danish-style stouts but they never really blow me away. Heavily roasted, licorice-heavy, not bad.

0.33l bottle from Ølbutikken. Then it’s time for the younger brother. This one fills 6/8 of the glass with a almost furry, creamy and just plain old good fantastic looking gigantic chocolaty head. Perhaps a bit to big for some, but it just looks amazing in the glass! Really something out of the ordinary. The beer itself is black as the knight. On the aroma in this one I get lots of chocolate and some nice hoppy tones mixed with red currants. A bit roasted malts also, but that’s more in the background. It just looks like a million bucks this one! It also tasted pretty damn good! The taste buds react and they are telling my brain that this is tasting at first like really really heavy burned chocolate malts has been added to an already heavy roasted batch of brew, it’s thick and really vicious with a soft to average carbonation level. Lot’s of chocolate as well, but’ it’s never in any way sweet. There is also a little bit of coffee. And definitely licorice in this one - like coffee mixed with mineral water in a way. I really enjoyed this one, and I thin this was much better than the over carbonated gushing younger brother. Would not mind spending a Christmas eve in a random hotel room in New York as long as I had this as an companion. Tasty! 21.04.2012

Pours a clear and black beer with a chocolate head. The aroma is malt, licorice, roasted and chocolate. The flavor follows the nose with additional hops. The palate is sweetness, roasted and with bitterness. Overall this is a good beer.

11.2 oz bottle, shared with Nova. Best before 2015. Nice, thin light brown head. Black color. Decent dots of lace. Nice, dry texture. Very light, crisp carbonation. Great bitter sweet taste. Nice, dark chocolate, coffee aroma. Pretty sure I like this better than Soft Dookie (which I had on tap at Jackie-Os), from what I remember. Nice, strong aftertaste. Tasty and enjoyable imperial stout to sip and share at a party. Nova liked it, she described it as "smooth".
