COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

The looks could not be better. Oily, black liquid matched with light brown creamy foam. Excellent.

A super-gusher, spraying half the train wagon’s inside, leaving a pleasant odor for the remaining 3.5 hours of the ride. The little beer hitting the glass was more or less black, with a dense, tan head. Coffee, some more coffee, dark chocolate, roasted malts and some licorice in the aroma.

Note: was holding on to this one to compare it with the "AT a NY hotel room", but apparently my beer drinking buddy drank his bottle by accident. :p

Slow gusher alert!
Dark brown to black beer, huge beige fizzy head, little stable, non adhesive. Aroma: lots of chocolate, alcohol, bit of chlorine, alcohol, dried fruits, mocha. MF: lots of carbon, medium to full body. Taste: sweet start, caramel, mocha, little hoppy, dried fruits, sourish, some citrus, sweet, some chocolate. Aftertaste: caramel, mocha, chocolate, more dark chocolate, bit of vanilla. A job well done!

Bottled. A black beer with a huge lazing dark brown beer. The aroma has strong notes of chocolate, alcohol, and roasted malt. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of chocolate, alcohol, chocolate, and roasted malt, as well as some spices coming late, leading to a very dry finish, where both the alcohol, roasted malt, and hops. The alcohol tickles the palate.

Bottle 33 cl. Huge thick light brownish head that really lasted. Excellent display of lacework. Pitch black color. Thick aroma of chocolate, vanilla, dark dried fruit, lovely toasted malty and sweet chestnut like notes. Light underlying floral bitterness in the aroma as well. Over the palate came mild warming alcohol, sweet dark chocolate, liquorish, light floral, dried fruits and some roasted malty notes as well. Overall quite complex malty profile in this beer. Moderated dusty to dry texture, but quite filling mouthful at the same time. Full bodied with a soft carbonation. Moderated to heavy sweet flavor with good counter bitterness. Lingering liquorish-vanilla, sweeten dark dried fruity and light roasted malty finish with a warming feeling all the way down. Quite drinkable for a 10 + % beer!

Rating #454, bottle from Ølbutikken

A black beer with an ok head. The aroma is liquorice, chocolate, salt, sal ammoniac and surprisingly also a bit of berries. Flavor of chocolate, salt, sal ammoniac, liquorice, bitter hops and the alcohol is more obvious than expected, but it still very nice. This is definately a great brew, but I would have wanted a more rounded palate, as this can seem a little "hard".

Black with a lasting off-white head. Aroma dominated by chocolate, licorice and coffee, with a hard roasted note of ink, and fruity notes, mostly of cherry. Sweet and full flavour dominated by hard roasted malt, coffee and charcoal.

Bottle: Thanks to Fonefan. This one gushed but not in the way that much beer was lost, it gushed a snake of foam. 3 glasses full and the foam kept coming! After a while, when the airy brown foam disappeared, a deep dirty brown beer appeared. Smell hops, coffee, hints of liquorice, spices, toffee, a a slight hint of earth. Taste is a nice mix of coffee, wood, alcohol, whiskey, liquorice, grass, herbs, dark fruits, raisin, fresh, roasted malts, light bitter, brown sugars and a touch of dryness. Very nice coffee grass aftertaste. After the foam disappears the beer had low carbo, a full body and a soft light dry mouthfeel. Watery texture.
