COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Special version of our infamous Disco Beer, this time brewed with a slight darker malt profile and aged on Chardonnay red wine barrels instead of the usual white wine barrels.

330 ml bottle @ Gastropub Nordic, Tampere. Label says Chardonnay wine barrel aged. Pours a copper amber colour with a small foamy head. Aroma of sweet red berries, caramel and some earthiness. Flavour of sweet red berries, grass, tannine, distinct red wine barrel notes, yeast, herbs and some bitterness. Medium bodied, foamy mouthfeel and a warming, dry, berryish finish. The normal version was better.

330 ml bottle. BBE 2015. At the Nordic, Tampere, Finland. I'm not 100% sure if this is the Red Cap version as the cap wasn't red... But the label says it's Chardonnay aged not white wine aged... I don't know. I'm puzzled the rest of the night now... Dark reddish brown colour, hazy and with a huge frothy light tan head. Malt, sweetness, mild hops and toffee in the aroma. The aroma ain't that strong. The flavour is closer to an American Barley Wine than IIPA. Strong hoppy bitterness but even stronger maltiness, sweetness and mild vinous notes. Not that balanced. Bitterness in the aftertaste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Ahhh yes, the elusive red cap Disco Beer! Gorgeous pour-- deep red-orange with pinkish head of velvety texture. First aroma is musty funk and vinous sweetness. The palate is lovely, soft sweet malts with grapey vinous notes, not quite sticky. It reminds me of some wheat wines, but with more austere malt structure and a sweetness that is tempered by the distinct juicy vinous character and the lightly musty funk. Interesting pink peppercorn note in the finish (without any heat of course). Fantastic brew!

This was sent to me by Strykzone. Thanks Dave. Pours hazy dark amber with a foamy and long lasting beige head with good thick lacing. Nose of brown sugar with distinct aroma of red wine barrels. Full body. Smooth creamy mouth feel with some alcohol showing. . Flavor is rich with roasted malts, the brown sugar again, and some stone fruit . Some hops show in the finsih. Really us, roast malt, brown sugar and cooked stone fruit. Maybe a bit of tropical fruit. It’s not exactly dry, but not exactly sweet. Really delicious. Great beer. .

Bottle, shared with Bergen Beer Geek Tasting Crew. Pours a deep clear ruby red body with a large creamy off-white head, lookin’ pretty darn fantastic. Aroma is fruity hops, raspberries, sweet malts, hints of red wine and watermelon. Nice. Taste is muscovado sugar, red wine, wood, hints of grape peel, grass and grains. Medium body, medium to high carbonation. Nice creation from Evil Twin.

Craft beer tasting dinner at the Brownstone, round five: Murky red copper, foamy off-white head settles and fades. Vinous fruity aroma and taste, floral and boozy, sweet malt and wood. Soft carbonation, medium-full body, moderately hopped. Sours a bit and flattens out as it warms. DNFL (Definitely Not For Lagerboys) Desert pairing with an oatmeal cookie with white chocolate and cranberry.

Bottle - @ RHP. Pours reddish copper with huge rocky head. Nice mix of caramel, citrus hops, and vanilla fruit note. Smooth front, leading into nice bitter finish. Big bodied, round notes of oranges, maple, little apple, and good bitter hops. Long finish. Yes, this is tasty.
