Bottle sample at the Evil Twin tasting at Ale Wine & Spirits on 5/19/11. Clear amber pour with a thin off-white head. Nose of white wine, crisp citrus, honey and grassy hops. Wine flavor with grassy hops and a malty finish. Super carbonated, but didn’t detract too much from nose or flavor.

Ungstrup (29170) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - MAY 21, 2011
Bottled. A hazy dark amber beer with a huge light tan head. The aroma has notes of hops, over ripe fruits, and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel, over ripe fruits, moldy wine grapes, alcohol, and flowery hops, leading to a dry and very bitter, hoppy finish. The body is thick

330. Pouyrs a cloudy dark amber with a gigantic surging rocky tan head. Plenty of fish eyes and suds. Loose spotty lace. Lemony bright vinous nose, definitely showing the white wine without a doubt. Some pine and grapefruit behind that. Creamy medium body, getting pretty flat. Caramel and pine showing on the mid palate but the bracing wine grape acidity is what characterizes the flavor profile. Vinous crisp finish. If you could get just the right acidity and just the right crispness from the wine, that would be something. Right now it still feels pretty experimental.

Palate cleanser. Hoppy citrus aroma. Citrus flavour. Drying. In your face hops hits the style. Big and boozy, but not complex tasty.

Courtesy of James while watching TROLLHUNTER. This sucker was the best brew of the night. I’m really excited for this brewery... everything I’ve had has either been world class or damn close. Ultra bright aroma and mouthfeel... clean and delicate array of piney hops and some remnants of tropical fruits. THE brewery to watch in 2011.

Bottle from whole foods. Pours a deep, hazy amber brown body with big foamy off white head that fades to lacing. The aroma on this sucker is a full bouquet of fresh pine hops. Mouthfeel is nicely carbonated with noteas of pine needles, slightly bitter citrus.

Bottled at Chistian Firtal, Odense. Hazy copper colour, huge lively head. Vinous nose with some grapefruit and gooseberry. Slimmer than anticpated with caramelly malt. More vinous than hoppy. Marked bitter finish. Interesting idea, not really perfected yet I think.

deyholla (6514) - Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA - MAY 14, 2011
Bottle. Pours a hazy deep gold with a tan head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma is full of resinous hops with a bit of a vinous red wine note and some sweet grains. Flavor begins with sweet grains but quickly becomes hoppy with a backing white wine note.
