Bottle from Wine & Cheese in Clayton, MO. Pours darkly orange amber with a huge foamy/creamy off-white head. Lots of floral and maybe citrus hop. Full bodied. Foamy carb. Very hoppy over some softly roasted lush caramel. Weird that. Then the hop turns fresh non-citrus non- berry fruity. The whole beer is just a lush experience. Brilliant.

Bottle. Poured hazy copper color with an average frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy complex earth hop aroma. Medium to full body with slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy smooth bitter flavor with a medium to heavy bitter finish of moderate to long duration. This beer exceeded my expectations.

Best Before 2015. 12 oz bottle into a DFH signature glass. A - Dark amber hazy body with a massive khaki foam. Very dirty and soapy and it took forever to settle down to a three finger high head. Crazy amounts of lacing and retention. S - Piney resinous hops and smooth oak. A touch of caramel malts and some spice. T - Piney hops, sweet grapefruit, bready malts and strong oak notes. Some hints of apple, grapes, vanilla, and spice in the background. Lightly bitter finish but it remains very smooth and robust. M - Creamy with a medium to full body with a nice level of carbonation. This has to be bottle conditioned. Alcohol is really well hidden. O - I’m really digging oak aged IPA’s, and the fact that its a white wine barrel really plays well with the base beer. It may be a few months old but the hops are still present and the bitterness really offsets the smoothness of the oak notes. Reminds me a lot of DFH Burton Baton. Superb beer!

0.33l bottle from myBrewerytap.com Thin one boogie it’s way in to my Mikkeller glass with a light blurry chestnut-amber colored body and a nice beige-leather colored head that’s stayin’ alive, stayin’ alive - for quite a while. On the nose this one is really fruity and delicious. Quite grassy-hoppy with all sorts of summer fruits and sweet malts. Groovy, and quite far out man! As it’s rollerblading it’s way in to my mouth I get the flavors of fresh moist peachy fruits, strawberries, warming alcohol and then all of a sudden it turns in to this grapy and really dry-tounging thing that actually can remind a lot of a dry white wine. This lasts way out in the aftertaste. It’s average carbonated with a near sticky mouthfeel. Can You Dig It? Boo-yah! 02.02.2012

11.2 FL. OZ. BOTTLE. Pours a nice amber colour with a decent white head. Lots of hops. Fruity. Paid more than $10 for a single while on a recent trip to NYC and I don’t regret it at all.

33cl bottle. Light brown colour with a large, foamy and frothy light tan head. Aroma is slightly caramelish and moderate hoppy. Flavour is mild sweet at the beginning but the final and the aftertaste has a decent bitterness. Also some grapes notes are present. Carbonation is medium. Body is medium.

330ml bottle. Pours a cloudy, deep amber, with an off-white head. Hoppy, juicy aromas, apricots, spruce, grapefruit, cloudberries (Hello, Ingrid!), yeast, caramel. Off-dry, medium bodied, high bitterness, low CO2. Hoppy taste, but a bit lacking in structure. The alcohol shines through, blocking much of the flavours out. Still, quite fruity, some caramel, apricots, lemon peel. Leaves an unbalanced impression. (2012-03-09)

12oz bottle. Light amber color. Aroma of acidic beer and grapes. Tastes of malt and hops, a touch of wine and barrel. I thought is was infected at first from all of the fizz. It got much better. Vinous finish with a touch of hop bitterness. (3275)

Dark rusty amber. Much darker than many IPA/DIPA’s out there. The nose is a powerful blast of grapefruit and caraway seed. Sweeter and married than many west coast offerings reminds me a bit of DFH 90 minute. Balanced hops on the finish.

Keg at BD. Orange with white head. Over ripe sweet fruit flavour. Rachel said it tasted like a pissy sauvignon. Keen nose. We only found out about the chardonnay addition afterwards. I certainly never guessed. An interestin beer. Slightly funky hops. Delicious though.
