3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Market of Choice, Eugene. A really weird idea but came off fairly well. Pours a cloudy golden tan, LOTS of head. Aroma has faint notes of yeast and spice. Yeast dominant flavor, very smooth and complex, barrels, no hops, now yeast. A lot going on here, but very smooth overall, warming is only a hint in the finish; the hops are very shy, the barrels less so. A really big beer, definitely worth exploring just for something different.

Copper colour. Aroma has floral hops, caramel malts and a bit of bread dough. Explosion of flavour. Itís tart and fruity with some pineapple. The bitterness is moderate and the sweeter elements are balanced well by the tartness.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottled @ de Molen tasting, small sample. Almost clear golden color, short head. Soft aroma of some grapefruit, bit citrus, bit grassy, some malt. Medium bitter in taste. Quite one-dimensional and a bit boring.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Rating #1018 -March 9, 2014 - My pick for #botw and #beerguychrisgeekbeer for #week10. Clear golden-yellow pour with a bubbly white foam, spotty lacing. Citrusy sweet, mild floral, grassy hops on the nose.. Mouthfeel crisp, mild alcohol warmth, low-medium carbonation. Taste is sweet orangey lemony notes with the spicy tang and huge dry hop bite lingers into the finish. Little chardonnay tang of dryness in the finish there too. Far out. Other adjectives associated with disco. And Such.

3.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle @ 2nd tuesday tasting. Aroma is sweaty hops, some yeast. Donít like the aroma. Flavour is way better, big hops, nice balance between malt sweetness and hop bitterness. Fruity notes. Nice.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle at the March 2014 De Molen monthly tasting. Poured a clear medium to light amber with a bubbly white head and some broken lace. The aroma is strong woody hop resin. The flavour is medium to strong bitter with a smooth wood hop light bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. For a 10.5% ABV beer, I couldn;t tell where the alcohol was. It was really super smooth and well balanced. I should buy some of this stuff for my cellar!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
2014-03-07. Hazy dark orange amber body with a modest off white head. Aroma is quite interesting, fruity, orange, tropical fruit notes. Flavour is pleasantly bitter, pithy bitter orange and tangerine. Average bodied palate, pleasant soft carbonation. Pretty nice. Bottle several months old but doesnít necessarily show it. Iím huge fan of IPAs and of evil twinís beers but found this one a little disappointing. Itís bitter and a little grassy from the hops, quite yeasty and raw. Iíll have another and maybe like it better the second time around.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle, shit man lots of white fizzy foam (10 min later) dark amber red pour. Malty aroma, a touch of the wine barrel but I only pick up on it because I know its aged in one, pine, some oxidation (old bottle), mild hops. Taste, mild hops up front, a bit sweet and then wham it drops off a cliff real quick, fairly oxidized, still not bad though.

I think they call this Disco Beer because you have to quickly dance over to the sink to avoid making a mess. POUR WITH CAUTION. Pours hazy amber with a huge off white head. Good lacing and retention. Aroma is complex, with bread and caramel sweetness, but more prominent pine tree and citrus notes. Also getting a bit of darker fruits, and some chardonnay from the aging. The taste starts off slightly sweet but switches to bitter rather quickly. Has flavors similar to the aromas, but also a little bit of a spicy background. Good mouthfeel, rich and velvety. Delicious.
