4.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20 roblove (27) - SWEDEN - NOV 21, 2011
Orange red in color with a little foamy head.
The nose is full of mango, and pear, citrus and tropical fruit.
First sweet and ends with a nice bitter finish, with a touch of grapefruit.

Pours hazy deep orange with 3-finger well retained off-white head. Nose is black pepper, tangerine, pineapple, mango, perfumy florals, strawberry; again a very complex nose that it a joy to inhale. The taste is malty, with definite chardonnay notes that integrate well, big florals, black pepper, tangerine, and resiny hops. The flavor is very complex, with huge assertive hops, tropical fruit, black pepper, and a very nice hybrid style that works extremely well, and I can’t believe someone hasn’t thought of this before. I may have a new favorite brewer if this keeps up. Yet another astoundingly good beer from Evil Twin.

Courtesy of James while watching TROLLHUNTER. This sucker was the best brew of the night. I’m really excited for this brewery... everything I’ve had has either been world class or damn close. Ultra bright aroma and mouthfeel... clean and delicate array of piney hops and some remnants of tropical fruits. THE brewery to watch in 2011.
4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 Defreni (2045) - Husum, DENMARK - APR 8, 2011
4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 Slipstream (1775) - USA - MAY 27, 2011
Awesome brew! That makes 2 stunners out of 3 from Evil Twin for this rater. Thanks to my cousin for opening this one. Fresh, sweet, piny hop aroma. Full, tangy, lightly astringent IIPA. Dash of yeasty greens. Very foamy with a huge head. I did not taste the white wine in here, which is a good thing. Very impressive, sir!

Uber dank, citrus evergreen, caramel, and fruit cocktail lead to vinous citrus, evergreen, caramel malt, and resin. Perfect palate- thick with medium carbonation.

Appearance: Pours a bright clear copper with a lasting off white cap of froth.
Aroma: A huge tropical blast of mango pineapple grapefruit tangerine and spicy sweet crystal like malt.
Taste: That spicy sweet malt on the nose is the first thing that hits my tongue. Earthy resinous hops, dried apricot. Alcohol apparent. Bitterness on the finnish.
Mouth. A little rough. Moderate carbonation. Seemingly dry.
Overall: Fantastic, near perfect. A great hoppy beer doesn’t have to come from the west coast.

bottle, mybrewerytap.com. Immediate sweet fruit aroma and a big pine needle scent too. Huge chewy mouthfeel. The wine influence is quite apparent, but it also has a sherry characteristic. Looks great in the glass, deepa mber with a creamy white head. Enjoyed this a lot, a well-crafted, big beer.

Bottle from whole foods. Pours a deep, hazy amber brown body with big foamy off white head that fades to lacing. The aroma on this sucker is a full bouquet of fresh pine hops. Mouthfeel is nicely carbonated with noteas of pine needles, slightly bitter citrus.

Bottle from Wine & Cheese in Clayton, MO. Pours darkly orange amber with a huge foamy/creamy off-white head. Lots of floral and maybe citrus hop. Full bodied. Foamy carb. Very hoppy over some softly roasted lush caramel. Weird that. Then the hop turns fresh non-citrus non- berry fruity. The whole beer is just a lush experience. Brilliant.
