This is still a true story about a dedicated Belgian brother who spend all his hard earned money on an all inclusive Barbados vacation to pursue a life long dream – brew an old fashion dark Belgian infused with local muscovado sugar aka Barbados sugar… On his way back he came across a five-star Brunello Barrel, let the beer rest for 6 months and created yet another pleasing treat. Hell’elujah.

It poured a red/mahogany color with a small off-white head. The aroma was of sweet molasses, some light oak, bourbon and dark fruits. The taste was of wood, sweet fruits, some light vinegar and sweet belgian sugars. Very nice.

Hazy dark red - brown beer, little tan head. Light palate, crispy and semi dry. Mild minerals. Pleasantly mild red wine sourness. Touch of red berry fruits. Touch of malt sweetness underneath. Finishes semi dry and tangy. Very winey this beer and very nice! Super drinkable.

Bottle. Pours cloudy hazel brown with a medium tan fizzy head that dissipates quickly leaving good lacing. Aroma is quite strong wine barrel, tart cherry, molasses. Flavor is the same, medium sweet, lightly tart, woody, tannic, vinous. Full body, creamy mouthfeel, light carbonation. A bit hot. Pretty tasty.

Bottle from state line liquors. Pours brown with an inch of brown foam which quickly disappears. Nose is of sugar and red wine. Bigger wine notes on the tounge. Has a bit of tartness as well. Doesn’t make much effort to hide its alcohol. Solid!

Oh my! I haven’t tasted one like this since Grey Parrot brewing Alt Bier. This is special. Tastes like a wild sour barrel alt bier. If I have to knock it I’ll say it is a touch sweet. If I tasted it with my eyes closed I would swear it was from Cascade Brewing. Cloudy brown beer no head. Wild sour yeast is the centerpiece of this beer. Wine and barrel. Grapes. Rustic. delicious. A Jordanesque beer.
