COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is still a true story about a dedicated Belgian brother who spend all his hard earned money on an all inclusive Barbados vacation to pursue a life long dream – brew an old fashion dark Belgian infused with local muscovado sugar aka Barbados sugar… On his way back he came across a five-star Brunello Barrel, let the beer rest for 6 months and created yet another pleasing treat. Hell’elujah.

330 ml bottle.
Pours a dark amber brown colour with a white head. Aroma of sweet caramel, nuts and some sourness. Flavour of caramel, nuts, sour berries, wood, tannine and some herbal notes. Medium bodied, slick mouthfeel and a dry, sour, woody finish. Finishes sour, woody and light sweet. Much better than to non-barrel aged version.

On draft at Torst. This was aged in red wine barrels. A medium-strength brew with pleasant hops, and interesting sour notes. It has an aroma of good red wine and flowers. There is a spicy tingle on the palate. Very interesting.

(Critique chaotique du extreme beer fest 2013): Vineux, acide, trace d’éthanol, assaut des sucres, pêche, mangue. Au premier contact, on croyait à un jus de clémentine, aurait exigé un meilleur échantillon.

Bottle to snifter. Looks good; a cloudy caramel/sugar in the raw color with bubbly off-white head that quickly dissipates. Smells and tastes good; sweet, oaky, and earthy with a nice red wine presence. Good on the palate too. Good beer!
