COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is still a true story about a dedicated Belgian brother who spend all his hard earned money on an all inclusive Barbados vacation to pursue a life long dream – brew an old fashion dark Belgian infused with local muscovado sugar aka Barbados sugar… On his way back he came across a five-star Brunello Barrel, let the beer rest for 6 months and created yet another pleasing treat. Hell’elujah.

Pours a slightly reddish brown with a fluffy but quickly dissipating head. The aroma is strong of crushed raspberry flesh, green strawberries, red wine vinegar, and a touch of smoke. The flavor is interesting with a tartness that's balanced out by a late sweetness. Somewhat backwards from what I'm used to. Cool beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A - pours clear rich mahogany with almost no tan head that fizzes away. No lacing. S - very sour aromas up front. Cherry and acidic notes. Dark sugars, red wine tannins, candied sugar, oak notes as well. Syrupy aromas. Fig and dried dates. M - full bodied. Sticky sweet, yeasty.Abrupt transitional sense, like drinking two beers. Warm rounded rich feel, to a quick burn on the back of the throat like a sour, to a mix of the two. T - dark fruits, cherries (cough syrup), candied sugar up front. Red wine, Alcohol, leather, dark fruits, metallic note on the palate. Sour acidic burn, to a lingering dried Fruit Leather, tobacco, bread yeast and tartness. O - interesting complex beer. Great sour aromas to an interesting complex beer. 7 ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A - Dark brown-amber with a thin layer of off-white-khaki head. Fades fairly quickly. S - Dark caramel malts, wine, oak, some sourness, dark fruit, Belgian yeast, raw sugars, some spices, and some of booze. T - Dark caramel malts, dark fruits, wine, oak, some sourness, raw and residual sugars, Belgian yeast, clove and other spices, a touch of vanilla, and some booze. M - Full bodied with moderate carbonation. Smooth with a sweet, warming, and lightly sour finish. D - The wine barrel adds some nice complexity and balance to the beer. Good BSDA.

Poured from bottle thanks to pepsiedcan, pours a dark brown with a light off white head, the aroma is pretty funky with a good amount of sour fruit mixed in with the malt, the flavor has a nice fruity front end with a little bit of the dark fruit coming through in the finish, kind of a strange beer but still really enjoyed it.

Bottle @ Schouskjelleren. Hazy, deep reddish orange body with a small beige head. Aroma has dry fruit, berries and alcohol. Flavor is sweet and sour, dry berries and acidic berries, moderate bitterness and some vinous alcohol. Body feels rather nice and a decent aftertaste. A bit unusually, rich in flavor, a pleasant sipper, very enjoyable.

Flaske kjøpt på Vinmonopolet i vika. Skum som bruser over når man åpner flaska. Ølen ser død ut men overraskende mye kullsyre, mørk farge, smaken starter fyldig og går over i en slags sur ettersmak, litt som sour ale.smaker ,overaskende nok mørk rom , brunt sukker og rødvin

Pours brown with almost no head. Aromas of dark malt, English toffee and dried fruit. Same aromas in the mouth, together with some barnyard funkiness and sour fun. Some brown banana notes. Nice balancing sourness on the tail end. Delish - would be even better with a bit more concentration.

Bottle from Vinmonopolet in Valkendorfsgate, Bergen. Gusher. When it’s done (thankfully a rather moderate one), I’m left with a deep mahogany dark brown body with a tiny edge of bubbles on the surface. Nose is molasses and distinct wood-and-red-wine barrel tones with some melon and grain in the back. Taste is dark sugary grain notes, near-tart red wine tones, wood and candy sugars in the back. Hints of marshmallows and grape peel. Fizzy carbonation, full body. For some reason, this is a weird ass combo that makes sense. I’m a bit taken aback from it, it’s really surprising but I do enjoy this more than the regular version. Maybe I just needed the sugar rush. :-)
