Bottle from Ølbutikken. Pours chestnut with a small light brown head. Aroma is pretty complex - complex malts with chocolate, spicy cinnamon ginger cake, cherries, toasted nuts, a small brett presence along with hints of oak and vanilla. Taste is dark malts, caramel, leather, cherries, dry oakiness and tannins, spicy red wine notes. A hint of chocolate, too. A bit of tartness in the back, a small brettanomyces presence in the finish, leathery and slightly funky. Tastes like Rodenbach and Oerbier Reserva had sex and 9 months later, this was born. Very good.

bottle from ølbutikken clear brown, smooth light brown head. nutty and dried dark fruity aroma, sweet malts, raisins, woody notes, mild boozy note from a source i can’t identify. rum?. flavor is red wine, wood, raisins, slightly tart, warming alc. tart or sour dried fruits, mild citrussy note. Tart winey notes from the barrel suits the beer well, giving grapes , citrus, wood tartness to the mild dried fruity and nutty dubbel sort of flavor. Like a bruin without the strong belgian yeasty stuff.

Bottle. Pours a dark ruby amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity sour tart wine aroma. Fruity dry malty yeasty wine flavor. Has a fruity malty woody wine finish.

Clear medium to dark red brown amber colour with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, sugar, sweet malt, moderate yeasty, wine, light alcohol. Flavour is light heavy sweet, light light acidic and moderate bitter with a long duration, pale grape, dark sugar - muscovado, sweet berry - grape tart, wine tart, a bit young maybe ! Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20120313]

Bottle at home bought at ACBF 2012. Pours brown, very dark amber/red with small golden head that really quickly disappears. Aroma is vinous fruit, burnt sugar. Bit herbal, and some sourness. Taste has elements of a Flemish oud bruin, but not the sourness. Sweetness of the sugar really comes through, and you get a bit of the wine barrel too. Some dark fruit as well. Mouthfeel of an oud bruin too. Pretty low carbonation and quite a rounded fruitiness. Nice.

Gedronken bij dutchdrebus samen met benzai en joes. Beetje rood/bruin kleurtje. Ruikt naar rode wijn, zuur, beetje kers/framboos fruitig, kaneel. Smaakt toch wel zoet/zuur en kersen.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a hazy reddish amber with a rough off-white head. Subtle Bretty nose with tart woody accents. Rich body, some initial sweetness from the sugars but soon the funky wild barrel leaves quite an impression, this ends tart and vinous with the booze pretty well hidden. 300312

Bottle @ FOneFan. Clear brown/red with small off-white head. Aroma is malt, fruit, caramel, yeast, spices, dark fruits and sugar. Flavour is malt, yeast, fruit, vinous, sugar, wine, medium sweet, Brunello Barrel and a little cherries.

Bottle @ fonefan tasting. Hazy dark red with a beige head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel, dried fruit, a little red wine and sugar. Flavor is very sweet and moderate bitter. Sweet finish. 300312

Botlle @ Fonefan tasting. Small head with short duration. Color is dark amber. Aroma and taste are fruits, red wine, candy sugar, caramel and notes of wood. A little sour and full bodied.
