Bottle@Himmeriget, Copenhagen - black pour thin tan head. Rich and complex dark malty aroma and taste, big chocolate and dark dried fruits, some caramel sweetness, oily palate, complex and bold, port infused wooden barrel nuances, so rich and complex, amazing stuff. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Here it is... One of the best imperial stouts and the sweetness of the Port barrels add a nice complexity of stone fruit... Love it!

Was there a Jesus? Was there a More Jesus or did they just start with Even More Jesus? Crazy good imperial stout. Rich, sticky, head like a chocolate milkshake. Only thing close to a flaw is it is really sweet, but you’re not ordering imperial stout if that’s a deal breaker.

330ml bottle at home from trade with fonefan. Thank you Jan! Black color with nice dark brown head. Roasted malty aroma, chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, dark fruits, sweet red wine - port, wood. Sweet and bitter taste like aroma but even better with some spicy notes and light alcoholic finish. Full silky creamy body with soft carbonation.

Pitch black and opaque with a 1.5 finger dark mocha head that has very good retention, only slowly fading into a lasting ring. Streaks of soapy lacing left behind. Impressive for the style and high ABV. Very vinous with a strong port barrel character along with dark fruit sweetness and dry oak that slightly overpowers the complex malt character of the base beer. There’s still a sweet and roasted malt presence with hints of burnt toast, dark cocoa and robust coffee followed by dessert-like chocolate malt sweetness. Nice port barrel presence but I prefer the malt crush of the regular version. Full bodied with a strong port barrel presence. Dry and vinous with lots of toasted oak and sweet, vinous dark fruit flavor. Lots of grape, dark cherry, currant and other dark berries along with a prominent toast oak flavor. Underneath, there is a nice balance of roast and silky malt sweetness. Some smoke along with burnt malt, coffee grinds, oatmeal and bitter cacoa along with sweet chocolate and lactic creaminess. Pretty complex and the port character gives this beer another dimension but the barrel aging takes away what I like most from the base beer. Good but not as interesting or flavorful as the regular version.

Bottle. Cotteridge Wines. Been in the cellar for 18 months. Shared with the missus on our 15th Wedding Anniversary. Clear, dark brown. Thinnest halo of tan head. The beer equivalent of walking down the aisle to a Nick Cave tune (Into My Arms), then walking back up to James’ Millionaire. Or summat. Heady, and fruity, and beautifully smooth. Missus isn’t too fussed by it. I could drink myself silly on it.
