Tap at Torst.. Pours a thick jet black with a 1 finger dark brown head. Nose is fruitier/sweeter than the Even More with pronouced raisin, oat, boozy aroma. Some vanilla and coffee. Tastes like burnt dark fruit and mollasses (weird i know with some light toffee, wood, espresso notes. The port comes through slightly (apparently aged for 8 months). Def adds a sweeter and stickier dynamic when compared to the Even More. Like this one.

Wow! Renews my faith in this style, having so many disappointments lately. The aroma is coffee, vanilla, wood, licorice, chocolate. The appearance is gorgeous, deep black, deep tan head, oily lacing on glass. The flavor is coffee, cream, chocolate, licorice, oak, vanilla. Beautiful mosaic of flavors. The finish is coffee, light roast, light pine. Awesome thick body, creamy mouthfeel. Just freakin awesome.

Bottle, shared with my wife. Incredibly dark, viscous pour, like motor oil overdue for a change. The head takes its sweet-ass time to form too, reddish brown and finely bubbled. The aroma is sweet and dark and dense and a bit woody. The palate is thick and sticky, with huge ruby port character, vinous dark fruits, chocolate, and leathery wood. Fruit acids in the finish. Silky, velvety mouthfeel. Whoah.

Bottle @ His Great Return Tasting. Thanks to Colleen for the pour! Deep brown with a modest tan head. Deep, rich red berries. Huge sticky burnt brown sugar sweetness. The taste is similar. Roasted blackberry flecked with burnt wood. Somewhat metallic and astringent. Notes of toasty nuts. Inky fat oily body. Soft carbonation. Overall, just a bit heavy handed and flabby. I’d take regular Even More Jesus over this .

Bottle split at the Jack is back tasting, big thanks to Rich De La Villain for trading this one for me from the one and only Cotts, 06/03/14. Black with a dirty tan covering that clears to a swirl and edgeing. Nose is bitter roast, dark malts, rich chocolate, molasses, dark berry fruit, burnt toffee. Taste comprises bitter roast, coffee grinds, rich chocolate, winey BA pangs, burnt brown sugar, molasses. Full bodied, fine carbonation, oily feel, warming close. Decent enough impy but was hoping for more from this one.

Jack is back tasting at Bruce’s. Thanks to Rocket Rudkin. Opaque dark brown beer, small tan head. Palate is slightly viscous and a little dry. Rich dark malt with a fair bit of coffee and a touch of treacle. Little malt cream. Really not getting any Port Barrel, just a touch of dark fruits. Strong minerally coffee finish. Gets chewy quickly. It’s not a bad beer but my expectations were not met at all.

Bottle thanks to Colin. It pours jet black with a small tan head. The nose is oily, chocolate, rocky road, cherry, fruity, port, roast and marshmallow. The taste is bitter, warming alcohol, rough, resin, chewy, oily, dark fruit, fruit syrup, burnt aspect, ash and big alcohol on the finish. Full body, fine carbonation and oily mouth-feel. A bit rough around the edges.
