COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Few times in the history of craft beer it has happened that a highly praised beer rises beyond mortal stardom into a higher godly league. Usually the recipe to make such heavenly drops is thick fudge-like body, pitch black color, amazingly overwhelming aromas of chocolate, coffee, dark fruits and muscovado sugar, obviously only made in limited amounts and most crucial of all – it must taste rare!

Bottle from Beaumont Market, Portland. Pours a rich dark brown/black, decent amount of tan head. Aroma rich with dark fruit, cherries, chocolate, roasted malts, burnt sugar. Body full and dense, super viscous, finish burnt sugar, booze. Yikes! Massive.

Pours a oily black with a good inch of a medim brown, fading and leaving a good ring. Rich chocolate aromas, spicy, plummy, coffee and hazelnut cake. Beautiful! Rich, thick, oily palate, loads of dark chocolate, lots of depth and layer, incredibly smooth with an everlasting cocoa aftertaste. Alcohol felt after a couple of sips but overall very well hidden in this top class impy stout. Instant classic for me.

22 oz bottle split. Pours jet black, and really thick, with a fading dark brown head. Aroma is smokey, with a little booze and some chile. Intense chocolate and dark fruit flavor with a nice aged feel. Plum. Really smokey flavor all around, and a surprisingly smooth finish. Really enjoyed this one. Definitely a must try beer.

At my parents place with family. Pours black with almost no head. Aroma is rubber, burnt barrel. Big very dark roasted malt. Taste is burnt malt, hint of rubber, oddly smooth dark roasted malt, slight plastic. All of that being said: it is a really nice full bodied stout, that I would drink again, it is a little heavy on the rubber plastic is the only issue.

Heavily roasted chocolate and espresso. Burnt bread (in a good way) and chocolate liquor. Dark chocolate bitterness finish.

Pours from a 1 pt., 6 fl.oz. bottle a ridiculously black body with small brown head which quickly recedes. The aroma is dark chocolate, licorice, butterscotch, and molasses. The taste is very sweet, medium bitterness and very light sourness. The body is full, thick, soft, and the finish is long. The alcohol is apparent but not forced, warm and inviting. Dark chocolate and coffee notes linger luxuriously for a long time. How sweet it is!

Pours a pitch black with a mocha head. Nose is port, coffee, dark chocolate. Flavor is sweet caramel, red wine, chocolate. Quite sweet. Mouth coating and viscous with a sugar glaze on your lips. Really heavy, not for the feint of heart, but warming, complex and rewarding.

Botella de 33 cl, adquirida en www.biirkonnen.com. Color negro. Sabor a chocolate, ligeramente a malta y muy ligeramente a vainilla y regaliz. Textura oleosa. Una extraordinaria Stout.

An indulgence for my 500th rating. Pours a deep oily black with excellent brown head that fades to a ring, leaving fine-grained oily lacing on the glass. Aroma is primarily dark fruit and chocolate, also with some coffee and leather. Taste is thick with rich fudge brownie batter chocolate, giving way to some roasted malts and hint of coffee in the middle, some slight alcohol and minor cocoa bitterness. Nothing overpowers the chocolate backbone throughout; everything is complementary. Palate, at room temp, is one of the thickest I’ve ever encountered. Mouth coating at all times, making the intricacies of the flavor unavoidable. Enjoyable as a sipper, as it packs a punch. Makes the price more digestible, being that it can easily be split three ways.
