Few times in the history of craft beer it has happened that a highly praised beer rises beyond mortal stardom into a higher godly league. Usually the recipe to make such heavenly drops is thick fudge-like body, pitch black color, amazingly overwhelming aromas of chocolate, coffee, dark fruits and muscovado sugar, obviously only made in limited amounts and most crucial of all – it must taste rare!

Bomber of Even More Jesus for Easter, I think so! Pours a dark brown/black with a large dark brown head. Aroma of chocolate malt/shake, vanilla, molasses, sugar, with light coffee and roasted malt. Taste of sweet sugary chocolate, molasses, dark fruits, with some light roasted malts and lightly bitter coffee on the finish. Smooth and nicely balanced!

UPDATED: JUL 2, 2015 Bottle from Gator Beverage. Nice little surprise when I walked in. This one pours pitch black with a very dark, half finger creamy head that settles like the top of a cup of espresso. Aroma of big peaty smoke, dark fruit, roast, chocolate fudge. Flavor follows with lots of smoked malts, roasty chocolate fudge, plenty of dark fruit, molasses. Big rich body, medium low carbonation, dry lingering smoke finish. Man, this is good. I’ve had double barrel Jesus, and assumed this was the base beer, but coming into this had no idea it was a smoked stout. DB Jesus had no smoke so I guess it was a different base. Really pleasant surprise as I love these smoked stouts when done right. This was done right.

Bottle in Pueblo with my Dad. Pour is pitxh black with a small brown head and good lacing. Vanilla, slightly ashy, some cocoa, toasted bread, toffee, and roasted brown sugar in the aroma. Taste is rich dark chocolate, some cinnamon, light smoke, some caramel, espresso, rich sugar, and some spice with a rich finish. Thick mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Pretty tasty.

Bottle. Poured a dark, almost black brown color with a small dark tan head. Aroma was lots of roasted malts, boozy bitter 92% bakers chocolate, dark fruits, cane sugar notes. Flavor was molasses, burnt malts, roasted notes. Some light creamy notes, with lots of booze. I see the appeal, the hipster name, the hype around it, the Evil Twin price tag... but it was just okay to me.

Draft. Thick and black as melted cacao, topped with a dense sandy tan head. Leaves brown, oily legs on the glass upon swirling. Aroma is smoky bacon, honey-roasted peanuts, vanilla, caramel, medium-roast coffee. The flavor is like a maple-dipped piece of bacon with a fudge and coffee finish. The oily brew lingers on the tongue for a long while. Jesus, this is good.
