COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Few times in the history of craft beer it has happened that a highly praised beer rises beyond mortal stardom into a higher godly league. Usually the recipe to make such heavenly drops is thick fudge-like body, pitch black color, amazingly overwhelming aromas of chocolate, coffee, dark fruits and muscovado sugar, obviously only made in limited amounts and most crucial of all – it must taste rare!

22oz bottle. Poured a black color with a small sized brown head. Aromas of roast, cocoa, and some dark fruits. Tastes of chocolate, dark fruits, roast, burnt brown sugar, and some coffee. Lighter alcohol in the finish, but overall well hidden.

Pours dark black and thick. No head. Tons of cocoa and dark fruits and alcohol. Much complexity. Awesome smoothness for a big beer.

"On TAP". Retrogosto amargo floral e torrado bem persistente. Excelente. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Eviltwin. Even more jesus.

UPDATED: NOV 18, 2013 On tap: The aroma consists of a moderate-heavy molasses, chocolate, roast, and vanilla. It’s a dark brown with no transparency and a small beige head that quickly fades to a thin film outlined by a slightly thicker ring. The flavor starts with moderate-heavy molasses, chocolate, and a touch of fruit. The finish has some sugary sweetness with some roasted coffee and a touch of alcohol. It’s medium-full bodied with mild carbonation and a somewhat oily mouthfeel. Overall, the sweetness and molasses wear on me.

Bottle @ home, courtesy of pepsican. Pours an ink black appearance with a brown head. Rich brownie, slightly spicy cinnamon, fig, plum aroma. Rich thick chocolate cake batter, dark chocolate, light vanilla, fairly sweet, light coffee flavor that is a bit goopy but in a good way. Great beer.

Thick black pour with dark tan head, aroma brings notes of dark cocoa, anise, hints of dark fruits, raisin, plum, nice earth, slight oak, hints of dark caramel, vanilla bean, big brownie, cake, hints of molasses. Taste is a mix of dark cocoa, hints of dark chocolate, roast, hints of dark fruits, slight anise into caramel, molasses, nice coffee and roast notes, hints of earthy tones, nice brownie cake, hints of earth, finishing fairly sweet, slightly oaky, bitter. Delicious,

Nice malty beer. Bit of an alcohol flavor but at 12% what do you expect. Very nice dark pour. Small tan head.

Bottle from Ølbutikken, Copenhagen,
Pitch black color with brown head. The roasted malt aroma has a component of freshness, sourness, roasted nuts and chemicals that is very interesting. The mouthfeel is round and smooth, thick; very good flavor of roasted malts and chocolate, similar to my De Molen benchmark, very rich; there is a light acidity from the dark malts, firewood, and strong bitterness; moderate residual sweetness. It gets naturally more roasty in the end, where finally also the alcohol produces some warmth.
Excellent.
