COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Few times in the history of craft beer it has happened that a highly praised beer rises beyond mortal stardom into a higher godly league. Usually the recipe to make such heavenly drops is thick fudge-like body, pitch black color, amazingly overwhelming aromas of chocolate, coffee, dark fruits and muscovado sugar, obviously only made in limited amounts and most crucial of all – it must taste rare!

from Erzbierschof - black beer with a poor head retention; very roasted almost smokey aroma with notes of ashes; coffee and black chocolate, pretty nutty; full-bodied, some moderate sweetness followed by a robust bitterness; pretty velvety palate; very long hoppy and coffeish aftertaste, bitter and slightly salty with notes of pepper and walnuts - great stuff !

Small dark brown body. Opaque black body. Spicy earthy sage aroma with minty chocolate notes. Dry-sweet earthy chocolate taste with spicy eucalyptus papery notes. Full-bodied. Mild, lightish mouthfeel. Dry soy sauce and chocolate and white sage aftertaste with cedar wood and cardamom notes. Highly drinkable and interesting. (0.33l bottle at Schouskjelleren, Oslo, shared with gr0ve.)

Thx. for the bottle Antoine. 33 cl. bottle @ Delirium Hoppy Loft. Nice golden on black design & I love the name but the accompanying text is so ridiculous and fails so badly at tongue-in-cheek that I just skimmed past it, it is quite Brewdog-esque but even sillier (& that is apparently possibly in case if you were wondering). Evil Twin has been quite known for taking one flavour and cranking it up to eleven which on several occasions has made them appear more like purveyors of bad jokes as opposed to brewers but I am quite a fan over extremely over the top flavours in beer so I am taking a light shining to them plus this beer promised to be an RIS, a style which I quite love seeing over the top as most other users of this website do. Pours an appeasing oily black with a creamy, descending mocha desert bubbly head. Nose is sweet and tad vinous with very sweet mocha, fudge, very creamy, thick chocolate and lightly roasted malts. Taste and body is rather creamy blended with some bitter coffee, roasted malts, fudge, sweet mocha, chocolate, sweetly vinous, light soy sauce, light vanilla. Not as over the top as I had hoped but decent enough this is not a bad RIS. Doesn’t taste rare either :(

Bottle. Pours a motor oil black with small tan head. The aroma is a strong roasted malt and vanilla. Medium mouthfeel with booze, chocolate, coffee, and alcohol burn finish. A good Imperial stout from Evil Twin.

pentaz (1244) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - DEC 26, 2012
Bottle. Pours oily black with lasting thick average dark brown head, Aroma is roasted and dark malts, chocolate, molasses. Taste is heavy sweet, light+ bitter. Body is full, texture is thick and smooth, carbonation is average. Finishes malty with some bitterness. Impressive brew . it is so balanced and light bitter, a rich malty taste with that high ABV . Even people who don’t care for stout dig this one.
