COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Few times in the history of craft beer it has happened that a highly praised beer rises beyond mortal stardom into a higher godly league. Usually the recipe to make such heavenly drops is thick fudge-like body, pitch black color, amazingly overwhelming aromas of chocolate, coffee, dark fruits and muscovado sugar, obviously only made in limited amounts and most crucial of all – it must taste rare!

Black as midnight pour, thick tan head, nose and flavor of bitter chocolate, coffee, smoked meat, cedar shavings, roast, graham cracker, clove, nutmeg, sandalwood, mandarin orange, tangerine, strawberry, raspberry, apricot, plum, tobacco, leather, raisin, fig, date, and prune. Insanely complex with an absolute motor oil consistency. Even bigger than Dark Lord, and far more balanced and delicious with an eternal syrupy, bittersweet finish. OMG! My new favorite RIS, hands down.

UPDATED: FEB 12, 2014 This beast pours jet black with a coffee-colored head that dissipates quickly into a very thin ring. Superb, and I mean SUPERB aroma of chocolate cake, fudge, a hint of coffee, white nougat, burnt sugar, old wood, vanilla, and roasted malts. These notes all work together in perfect tandem, it’s actually flabbergasting how beautiful the aroma is. It’s assertive without being cloying. The taste is the very definition of harmony: sweet choc, bitter dark malts, woody booze, all put together by a thick, syrupy mouthfeel with the most elegant carbonation. It’s so thick it’ll coat the inside of your glass. You could, if you so chose, down it in a few seconds, but you will have the willpower to sip it all the way through, because it’s that f***ing good. I’m having a hard time not giving this beer a perfect 5. It is quite likely the most balanced stout I’ve had. On a league of its own.

330ml bottle from Archive Beer Boutique. Wow, it’s like pouring oil into your glass, thick and black with a brown layer of foam. Big bold aromas of aniseed, chocolate and vanilla. I think that this would have to be the thickest beer I have ever had. Full rich creamy smooth velvet mouthfeel. Long alcohol burn in the aftertaste. Definitely one to take your time with. Would be great with a cigar.

An outstanding stout. Pours an inky black with a small tan head. Just delicious-taste of roasted malt and coffee. Everything an Imperial Stout should be. Just excellent.

Black, smoooooth, and awesome! Strong without the astringency. Coffee, caramel, chocolate and malt with sweet finish that demands the next sip.

Bottle. Pours pitch black with an unreal, large creamy chocolatey dark brown head. Aroma is rich, sweet chocolatey roasty. Dark roasty malty. Caramel. Milk chocolate. Dark chocolate. Hints of dark fruitiness. A sugariness that must be the muscovado. Creamy coffee. Big full body. Lusciously creamy. Smooooooth. Finishes sweet roasty chocolatey, very mild roasty bitterness, pleasant warming form alcohol but no booze. Very Sweet. Exceeded expectations. Decadent. Delicious. Amazing.
