4.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
THOUGHTS: Could smell this one the second the first hiss escaped from the bottle as I began to pry the cap off. Hid alcohol very well for the high ABV. It was noticeable but not at all harsh. Very intense but rather smooth. Even better tasting as it warmed.
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured an opaque black with a small, light brown head that was almost reddish and nearly fully diminished. The aroma had heavy roasted malts, coffee, chocolate syrup and very dark chocolate; hints of banana; raisin; prune; cherry;port; hints of smoke and wood; light alcohol; and dark fruits. The initial flavor was moderate to heavily sweet, and slightly bitter and acidic; while the finish was heavily sweet, moderately bitter and ever so slightly sour. There was chocolate syrup, dark chocolate, dark fruit, hints of bacon, alcohol, prune, raisin, roasted malt, coffee, cherry dark fruit, and burnt malt. The full body was oily and sticky on the lips with soft yet rather tingly carbonation and a slightly alcoholic finish.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours like syrup with a tight, tan head. Smell is chocolate with minor notes of burnt sugar and toffee. In first sip, it is very light in booze with an extremely sweet tongue feel. It’s dry and bubbly with taste of coffee, chocolate, brown sugar. It is a deep, sugary brew with a lot of potential. Got one in the cellar to see what orbs complexities unfold!

Bottle at Eulogy. Opaque black pour with an impressive sheet of dark brown foam. Lasting ring but only sporadic lace. Huge roasted chocolate coffee flavors. Fantastically full body and creamy finish. OMG! Really great stuff! Was not expecting this. Deep complex notes of molasses and espresso. Charcoal grill. Rich chocolate nibs. Black cherry. Leather jacket. Tobacco. Finishes way too creamy and smooth for a 12% brew! Fantastic!

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
on tap @ Vino Bellissimo / Lima OH --- Opaque black/brown color, 1" brown head, full curtain of lace that slowly drifts back into the drink. Taste is chewy toasted caramel malt that moves into the palate with a minimum of fizz, and a bit of dried fruit, that, in spite of 75 IBUs, retains the toasted caramel through a long sweet finish. A solid, full-bodied brew.

Bomber of Even More Jesus for Easter, I think so! Pours a dark brown/black with a large dark brown head. Aroma of chocolate malt/shake, vanilla, molasses, sugar, with light coffee and roasted malt. Taste of sweet sugary chocolate, molasses, dark fruits, with some light roasted malts and lightly bitter coffee on the finish. Smooth and nicely balanced!

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from Gator Beverage. Nice little surprise when I walked in. This one pours pitch black with a very dark, half finger creamy head that settles like the top of a cup of espresso. Aroma of big peaty smoke, dark fruit, roast, chocolate fudge. Flavor follows with lots of smoked malts, roasty chocolate fudge, plenty of dark fruit, molasses. Big rich body, medium low carbonation, dry lingering smoke finish. Man, this is good. I’ve had double barrel Jesus, and assumed this was the base beer, but coming into this had no idea it was a smoked stout. DB Jesus had no smoke so I guess it was a different base. Really pleasant surprise as I love these smoked stouts when done right. This was done right.
