4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Served from a 12 oz bottle from Bottlecraft. The appearance is a oily ruby black with a perfect deep brown head. The nose oozes with hot gooey fudge chocolate browns with caramel, smoked sausauge, milk chocolate, and whoppers. The flavors enter with a lot of smoked meats but the sweet rich chocolate truffles with confection sugar and brown sugar sprinkled in there. Also some peanut butter hints. There is also some dark dried fruits and more smoked meat in the finish. The mouth is full bodied with a moderate creaminess. A long sticky finish. Great beer for sure!

650 mL bottle poured into a snifter. Pours inky black with a nice deep mocha head. Molasses, fudge, booze, dark chocolate. Pushing into soy sauce range. Taste is equally boozy. Heavy fudge and dark chocolate sweetness. Molasses and dark fruits in the finish. Roasty bitterness. Heavy with low carbonation. Boozy, but not overly so. At first I didn’t think I’d be able to finish my glass, but the sweetness never becomes cloying. Excellent.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
From notes. Enjoyed on September 19 at Travis’ house. Poured from a 22 oz bottle. The pour is beautiful. There is a thick, viscous, and oily black liquid with a dense dark tan bit of head and no lace. The aroma is, well, not what I’m looking for. I didn’t know this baby was going to be this smoky. It’s not my thing. There is a little roast, some nice chocolate, maybe a hint of coffee, but then it’s dominated by the smoke. There is a little alcohol burn and a sweet molasses on the back end. The flavor is a little better, but still dominated by the smoke. There is a little more of a dark fruit presence to go with the chocolate, coffee hints, and general booziness. The mouth feel is light for what the pour looks like. There is a decent viscosity, but the carbonation really makes this what it is. The aftertaste is lingeringly roasty and chocolatey with a heavy dose of campfire. I wanted more.

Full body, strong but not very distinctive flavor.
Good sour/bitter/sweet balance.
Pleasant but not remarkable as the hype would lead you to believe.

Bottle that I won in a friendly sports bet. Hell yea. This beer is extremely dark with a near brown head. Aroma is very malty, obviously, with hints of almonds, chocolate, espresso, dark fruits and dark rum. The palate is huge and the alcohol is well masked. Rich, malty flavors dominate with supporting notes of dark fruit and brown sugar. This isn’t super sweet and it’s not super roasty either, just a good balance of the two huge flavors. Most crucial of all, this tastes rare.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a dense dark brown with a smaller mocha head that settles quickly, leaving some fine spots of lace. Nose involves rich fudge, quite prominent alcohol vapors, nuttiness, toasted notes, and some marshmallow. Quite sweet, decently bitter. Not too heavy considering its size, pretty oily, with a drying toasty and warming finish. A nice brew, dangerously drinkable considering everything.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Extra, extra dark brown with a small, dark tan head. Aroma makes this seem to be bourbon or wine barrel aged, but the label says this is "regular" Jesus. A decent bit of booze in the aroma also. Taste is dried fruit-sweet, some tropical fruit tartness, a bit of dark chocolate and that seemingly barrel aged character even though it’s supposedly not barrel aged. An excellent stout with a unique taste.
