4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 danielcurtis81 (1511) - San Diego, California, USA - JUL 13, 2012Served from a 12 oz bottle from Bottlecraft. The appearance is a oily ruby black with a perfect deep brown head. The nose oozes with hot gooey fudge chocolate browns with caramel, smoked sausauge, milk chocolate, and whoppers. The flavors enter with a lot of smoked meats but the sweet rich chocolate truffles with confection sugar and brown sugar sprinkled in there. Also some peanut butter hints. There is also some dark dried fruits and more smoked meat in the finish. The mouth is full bodied with a moderate creaminess. A long sticky finish. Great beer for sure!
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Cirrhosis (1074) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - MAY 20, 2013
Inky black body with a dark brown short lived cap floating on top. Smokey chocolate aroma, with a massive beast of sweetness hiding under that. Soya slightly shows after a long while of smelling. This is a massive beer, thick, chewy, and strong. The alcohol is very noticeable and gives off tons of heat. This was a poor choice for after mowing the lawn. Dam I distracted as all hell while reviewing this. Good and massive...... should buy another and save for winter!!

Rich dark brown/black color; Heavy creamy body; Aroma of toasted malt, rich coffee, dark chocolate, & light dark fruit; Flavor of roasted sweet malt, oak, caramel, molasses, espresso, dark bittersweet chocolate, dark fruit, some vanilla, and licorice; Warm finish; Nicely balanced & complex; The alcohol is fairly well hidden; Overall, a lot going on here - very tasty stout!

Shit dude! Pours black with a small tan head. Leaves tan lacing in spots. Nose of chocolate, roast. Taste is slightly sweet, massive milk chocolate. Roast on the finish. Body is ultra creamy. I have found religion again.

UPDATED: MAY 19, 2013 A: Alcohol. Roasty. Chocolate. A dry earthiness.
A: Looks amazing. Black as night and thick,
T: Lots of good standard stout flavors with a creamy backing. The finish is earthy which cuts through an acidity.
P: A bit acidic at times and heavy but not overly so.
Overall this is a really good beer. Lots of great stout charachteristics but the acidity really hinders it. The earthy finish offsets it a bit but it’s still there. Too agressive on the palate it cuts through too much for me to enjoy.

Motor oil pour with thin dark tan head..looks great but disappears fast. The smell is roasted malts, tobacco maybe? And some sweetness. Wow a slight tobacco sweetness up front, lots of chewy thickness on the way down, no burn from the alcohol. A really great stout.

Draft. Nice brew. thankfully not too much coffee. Nice lacing, thick on the palate. Glad I got to try it on draft as a bottle of it is expensive.
