Aroma of plums and dark fruits. Taste of plums, raisins, dark dried fruits, chocolate. Very well balanced. I dont get coffee or any roasted characters so I would more categorize this is an imperial porter. A good imperial porter!

12/17/13. 22oz bottle thanks to Brent! I was surprised I hadnít had this one - sweet! Pitch black, oily pour with a nice tan head that sticks, mild lacing. Huge aroma, very rich, oily, a touch of booze and soy sauce, lots of roast, dark chocolate, roasted, bitter malts. The flavor shows plenty of dark, roasted grains, bitter, coffee, dark, dark chocolate, oily, a touch of soy sauce (one person in the group said bacon), savory in a way. Tasty.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
eh, it might be a bit too much for me. i didnít get a lot on the aroma, but that is normal. the appearance is standard imperial stout. not much in the way of head, but when it does show it is caramel brown and thin/disappearing. palate was surprisingly thin. I didnít love this. especially considering the premium you pay for Evil Twin beers, this probably wasnít worth it.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle shared at Daveís tasting. Two Jesus beers at one tasting!!! Pours black with a rich brown head. Very pleasant aroma that is filled with malt, vanilla, prunes, figs, chocolate and caramel. The flavor is ample roasted malt but with less of the vanilla, chocolate, and prunes than in the aroma. Caramel sweetness is present as well. Some alcohol heat at the finish. Full bodied.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at Beer Temple, Amsterdam. Pours a black body with a small capuccino colored head. Soy sauce and puffed oats stand out among roasted aromas on the nose. Peated malt whiskey is added in the mouth on sweet and roasted flavors. Full bodied and smooth. Dry tongue and a distinct alco warmth. Notes of ash in the finish.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours dark brown tinted black with a thin mocha head. Nose is ashy and burnt malts upfront, lots of booze. This beer ainít my thing, as are most of ETís beers for me. Their are a couple exceptions, but most of the beers are Too extreme on either side of the abv spectrum to be taken to seriously. Itís fun to make a 13% or 2.7% ipa but itís not practical or even enjoyable (for me) to drink them.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
11.2 oz. bottle.
Almost opaque black, with espresso colored thick head and good lacing.
Powerful nose with licorice, malts, vanilla, prunes and coffee.
Full bodied, oily, moderate carbonation with bitter warm lasting finish.
Flavor is big! with roasted malts, coffee, vanilla, licorice, dark fruits. Sweet. Although this is a non-barreled edition, it has lots of notes from a barrel.
High ABV is well integrated in the big and complex flavor, but still on the sweet side.
