4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a Portsmouth brewery snifter.
The color is a bright, cloudy yellow with a light white head and some nice lacing left on the glass.
The smell is bright hops in the nose some good sweetness that reminds me of spring. There is some grassy aromas and a nice bright orange and mango aroma with smelled like there was fruit in this beer.
The flavor is biscuit dough flavor at first with a tease of citrus and a tease of pine then a smack of bitterness. There is a slight push of bitterness that takes you aback before letting of earthy pine in. Resiny citrus flavor runs deep in this beer like a vain breathing life into the back-end where more bitterness punishes briefly before letting go.
The feel of this beer is a medium which does try to be a bigger beer. The bitterness lingers a bit and makes it feel heavy but only briefly.
This beer does go down well even with a certain amount of finessing. A hop lover must try.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours hazy straw with one finger of pillowy white head, good retention and moderately heavy lacing. (4/5) Nose is dominate by pine resin and sweet citrus, with pale malt and tropical fruit in the background. (8/10) Taste is mild sweet, moderate bitter. (7/10) Light to medium body, moderate carbonation, crisply bitter finish. (4/5)
IPA done the way I like it: just enough light malt sweetness to temper the initial hop bite, but as the sweetness quickly fades, the sharp hoppy bitterness remains. Perhaps a touch simplistic, with not a lot of depth of flavour or complexity, but certainly worth trying. I’d really, really like to try this fresh. (15/20)

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Greenish hued gold for the color. A bit of a chill haze. Moderate head but it leaves several large spots on the glass.
More earthy nose than most IPAs. I detect some cream as well. What is missing, though, is a strong floral hop presence. Rather pedestrian for the style.
The flavor is beautifully balanced, especially for the style. Here, the hop is more pronounced, but the malt base is solid. The aftertaste is neutrally bitter but not biting. The aftertaste is long lasting and more balanced than most IPAs. Highly carbonated, but with an average level of body. Overall, an easy-to-drink IPA with interesting notes throughout the tasting.

UPDATED: MAR 8, 2015 12oz bottle. Very pale cloudy gold. Frothy thin head.Attractive lacing. Aroma is really sophisticated hop character. Flavors are equaly sophisticated and complex. A little grassy, a little citrusy, a little resiny. Really nice.
