To take up the challenge and make a 100% true Brett IPA can very easily become a fatal attraction for the Brewmaster. Once you get acquainted with Nelson Sauvin’s fruity and seductive personality, along with Bretts irresistible, overpowering, alluring and very charming nature, it will ensnare you and drive you mad obsessing over how exactly you can create the perfect desirable tangy, funky, crisp, tart flavor in ya mouth.

Clear golden with a big white head. Aroma is floral with a bit of hay and slight barnyard aromas. Flavor is light hops with a bit of tartness. Finishes very clean and bright. Wife: 4.1

Sampled at the JRHB brett meeting. Poured medium hazed gold. Aroma was a combination of citrus grapefruit and lemon along with a considerable funk. Flavor matched. Unfortunately, the two fought like cats and dogs to be the most interesting and obvious part of the profile. The hops and brett didn’t play nice here. I rarely like these hoppy brett beers, and this was no exception. Well executed by the brewer, just not my thing.

Definitely one of the more unique beers I have had. An interesting combination of Nelson Sauvin hops and mild Brett flavors that I think come together well. Not something I would come back to right away, but unique, drinkable and enjoyable.

Pour out of 22 oz bottle, hazy golden yellow pour with white head, aroma brought big fruit notes with pineapple, grapefruit, white grape, some peach into a bit of biscuit, bread, some slight funky notes, nice orange peel as well with a hint of grass. Taste was fruity hop forward, with pineapple, grapefruit, mango into some white grape, peach, touch of funky earth into some herbal, grassy hops, very slight biscuit, finishing bitter, pretty dry.

Tap - fair size foamy head, medium straw/gold color, big grapefruit and tropical fruit hop aroma and flavor, mild malt backbone, maybe a very mild Brett like spicy finish (expected a little more though), still a good beer overall ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at What’s Brewing. A big, white head sits on top of an unclear, golden body. Lacings. The aroma has pine cones, resins, grapefruit and some malty notes. Sort of vinous, with brett hints. There’s a fine bitterness in the mouth, it’s dry and medium to full bodied, with flavors of pine cones, resins and grapefruit. Some subdued malt in the back, and funky brett hints. Lasting hop driven finish. A quite lovely thirst quencher. 141031

Draft at Torst with Brendan and streets. Pours a hazy golden body with no head. Aroma is faint hop. Mouthfeel is medium to creamy with notes of smooth hops, lemon, bitter grapefruit and light funk. If this has brett it is really delicate - which a obviously isn’t a bad thing.

Sampler at What’s Brewing 2014, Stavanger.Cloudy golden body with an inch thick, creamy light brown head. Vinuous barrel notes and berries, gooseberries especially, on the nose. Fruity, salty, mellow bitter flavors with vinuous notes and tropical berries prominent. Sharp carbonation, medium bodied beer that leaves the tongue dry.
