Graciously bretty, slight cocoa, hoppy citrus, a bit more interesting than the Blanc, with some sweetness and overall a better beer.

Pour is black with a frothy brownish head. Lots of spicy Brett aromas with a bit of smoke and floral hops. Wild yeast, leather and barnyard notes upfront followed by loads of roasted malts and a long medium pine bitterness. Medium carbonation. Rather unusual black IPA that combines the characteristic Brettanomyces flavors with lots of roastiness and hoppiness.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass; no bottle dating, but is a recent release. Pours pitch black color with a 2 finger dense tan head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, citrus rind, chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toast, light char, floral, grass, pepper, light funk, and floral/roasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/floral hops, fruity/spicy brett, and dark/roasted malt notes; with good strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pine, chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toast, light char, floral, grass, pepper, light funk, and floral/roasted earthiness. Moderate amount of roast/pine/citrus rind bitterness and yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon/orange zest, citrus rind, pine, chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toast, light char, pepper, light funk, and floral/roasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice balance, robustness, and complexity of citrus/floral hops, fruity/spicy brett, and dark/roasted malt flavors; with a nice bitterness/sweetness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, fairly creamy/sticky, and lightly chalky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice Black IPA style. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/floral hops, fruity/spicy Brett, and dark/roasted malt flavors; and very smooth and fairly crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Pours opaque coffee brown with a fairly thick tan head that leaves some good lacing. Roast malt aroma has a strong overtone of woody hops and hay, plus a hint of cinnamon. Bold flavor has roast malt, hoppy, smoky, earthy, hay, and subtle molasses and miso notes - but where did that cinnamon go? Firm texture has a fair amount of fizz, and leaves a hoppy and roast malt finish that has hints of coffee, miso and yeast. Let this one seduce you.

22oz bottle. Very dark brown. Smells of cocoa powder. Flavor is full Brettanomyces. Finishes with a slow funk that lingers along with a gentle abundance of hops. (4237)

Full body, slightly sticky texture, soft carbonation. Finish is medium lasting roasty coffeeish bitter, later also hoppy. Quite simple, not heavy, good one.

Dark, clear brown. Light tan head. Slightly funky, smells slightly of a secondhand smoke-filled apartment. Some roasted coffee grounds. Dry bitterness, some sweetness. Thick body, chewy. Acidic. Very nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Countbeer (4755) - Best of E-Town mit ein Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - JUL 4, 2014
Bottle: Served in a Duvel glass: Medium to bigger sized somewhat airy creamy beige foamy head on top of a black colored beer. Aromas of some yeast (light light brett tone), liquorice and bay leaf, light roast, some manure, some malty caramel tones and a funky edge. Flavours are a smooth mix of roast, bitters, bay leaf, some malt roast, light coffee, light creamy, herbal toast/roast, some light yeasty tones and a toasty caramel tone. Aftertaste is malty, bitter, light roasty, light bay leaf and some caramel. Low carbo, creamy to silky mouthfeel, meeium to fuller bodied and a light silky creamy light oily light spiced texture. Very nice, balanced, smooth and tasty. Guess those are the most important things we people look for in a beer... Anyways, I am enjoying this one!

Bottle. Poured clear black color with an average frothy tan head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted malt, chocolate, earthy hop with a small sour aroma. Medium to full body with a dry slick texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy dark bittersweet & sour flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet & sour finish of moderate to long duration. This is a very good complex beer.
