COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
To take up the challenge and make a 100% true Brett IPA with Yuzu fruit can very easily become a fatal attraction for the brewmaster. Once you get acquainted with the Yuzu fruits irresistible and seductive personality, along with Bretts overpowering, alluring and very charming nature, it will ensnare you and drive you mad obsessing over how exactly you can create the perfect desirable tangy, funky, crisp, tart flavor in ya mouth.

Cloudy gold to amber pour with a 4 finger fluffy off white head. Aroma is loaded with fruity citrus, salted melon and some earthy funk. Flavor is like Belgian IPA meets citrus punch, light cereal, nice, mellow funkiness, a little salinity, tons of grapefruit and sweet tangerine-like sweet orange, finishing with light earthy, soggy wood funk and lingering sweet citrus. Light to medium body with a creamy entry leading to a juicy, but still creamy finish, light, blanketing and slightly sharp carbonation and a lingering mouthfeel somewhere between crisp and slightly chalky, dry. I really enjoyed this one, the best usage of citrus in a beer that I can remember, I really gotta try out one of these yuzu fruits. Unfortunately at $14/bomber, although I really enjoyed this one, I don’t think that I will be likely to purchase again.

On tap at the brickstore. Nice for a damn hot day. Herbal tea aroma with much the same in the flavor. Solid refreshing.

Golden color with white head. Aroma is yeasty with some lemons and perfume. The flavor is more sour than bitter with some lemons and a bit of funk going on. The aftertaste is slightly bitter and dry. Overall a nice beer.

bretty lightly funky and fruity nose. A little more hops and less funk in the flavor though it finishes fruity funky and dry. Good brew.

Pint on tap at Dutch’s. Hazy golden orange color. Thin white head, leaving plenty thicker lace. Medium plus body. Smooth, kind of soft, crisp lighter carbonation. More dry finish. Very cool combination of brett, hops, and yuzu. Light spicy taste, nice tropically fruity citrus. Some pineapple. Everything works very well together, and is in balance. Moderate bitter taste, light sweet, little zest, very light tart (much less tart than beers that accidentally get brett’d). Brett is much more subtle and non-intrusive here than is often the case with other brett beers. Yuzu and brett together make for a delightful tanginess, rather than a tartness. Pretty impressive stuff... A lot better than expected; well-done.

Bottle. Pour hazy yellow with a creamy white head. Aroma is a very distinct citrus(yuzu) note, passionfruit, pine, sweet ripe pineapple, biscuit. Taste is light sweet fruity and medium pine and grassy bitter, the yuzu is present all the way. Brett is coming through in the finish with a mid dry bitterness. Medium bodied, average carbonation.

UPDATED: AUG 15, 2014 Bottle. Hazy light gold with a medium fluffy white head. Aroma is musty peach and tangerine. Taste mostly follows and adds a little fresh cut grass. Clean crisp mouthfeel. Excellent.

Draught @ Smoke & Barrel, D.C. Lovely, slightly pissy, fruity IPA. Not to heavy, nice puckery hop finish. Groovy

Draught @ Bishops Arms Folkungagatan, 12/8-14. Hazy orange amber, short off white head. Big exotic citrus aroma with some marmalade, zest and pine. Taste is sweet fruity (grapfruit, lime, mango, dragonfruit) with some marmalade/caramel and bisquit. Zesty bitterness. Medium body, soft carbonation, slight oily. Didn’t notice too much bret at first, and also thought the whole yuzu thing was unnecessarily undetectable. But then after some sips it showed itself and gave the flavour an acidic twang. It got a bit cloying towards the end.
