4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20 erickok (2298) - Tours, FRANCE - JUL 17, 2012
UPDATED: JUL 18, 2012 Murky brown, light brown head. Quite happy hoppy for the style, very American as well. Combined with some base dark sweetness. Surprisingly bitter as well but with the creamy base. More like a double IPA really. It is a bit harsh. Worth the alcohol. Do like it! (At Dean?s Tasting)

Bottle shared at tasting from Denk. Pours unclear brown witha small tan head. Aroma is sweet caramel but balanced with resinous hops and grapefruit. Flavour is also more hop dominant than expected, heavy sweet but then a medium bitterness hiding behind. Full bodied with soft carbonation

75cl bottle shared.
Creamy off white head. clear ruby-amber pour. Sweet aftertaste. Quite strong taste but excellent. Could probably do with a couple of years aging and would taste even better.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 nearbeer (3052) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - JUL 12, 2012
750 ml. Hazy chocolate with a small, but lasting cover of cream and lots of sugary lace. Big nose of grapefruit, caramel, and resin. Taste delivers the same goodness as promised in the aroma, plus some raisin, cherry and chocolate. Oak, toast and some tobacco make for a lingering dry finish that becomes a bit much after a few sips. Medium-heavy body is in good balance, shows a touch of warming alcohol, and has medium carbonation. Reminds me of BigFoot, but this one has a little too much stomp. Needs a bit more malty goodness to stand up to the nice strong hop mix.
3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 DalzAle (1738) - Eden Prairie, Minnesota, USA - JUL 10, 2012
Bottle. Very thick dark tan pour, surprising amount of carbonation and an aroma of nice boozy toffee and nuts. Flavor is creamy malt, herbal and hot boozy leather. Aftertaste was slightly off putting and medicinal. Not a bad beer, but I probably wouldn’t pick this up again due to the $13 price point.
