COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Did you also at some point in your life get seduced by promising words like ’probably the best in the world’, ’it works every time’ etc.? This American Barley Wine Ale says it how it is. It’s intense, attention seekingly hoppy, and definitely your kind of beer. A beer with a big ego, drive and a huge thirst for recognition.

2012.08.07 - on tap at Always Ron's. Pours a ruby copper with thin white head. Aroma very nondescript to my nose. Taste is fleeting, off the taste buds as fast as it was on. Mouthfeel very smooth, almost "flat", little carbonation. For a barley wine, this is very smooth and hides the alcohol well.

Aroma is floral hops; citrus, lemon grass , yeast and crystal malts. Taste is light crystal malts followed quickly by a fairly potent bitterness that sadly is a bit too dominant for a barleywine. Appearance is a clear amber with a thin pearl head that retains fairly well.

UPDATED: APR 29, 2015 Aromas of carbonated malts, carbonated molasses, carbonated malt syrup, carbonated malted barley and carbonated cinnamon. Appears a copper/gold with an extreme amount of sediment (which leads me to believe that this is a hoppy barley wine that is past its time) Taste is definitely hoppy with notes of herbs, pines, resin, dankness and dry bitterness. It also also extremely sweet with a ton of malt sugar sweetness. Caramel, biscuit, maris otter and amber malts touch the tounge. Overall, this is really interesting. It’ is hoppy but sweet all at once. I do think that the hops are dropping off though. Another Evil Twin beer that I wish I was able to try more fresh.

Warka 5.12.2014r.

33cl bottle at home from de Bierkoning, Amsterdam. Body is clear to opalescent ruby, head is small off-white, mostly diminishing, fair lacing. Nose is floral, flavor is molasses, caramel, honey, light roasted malt, herbs, tropical fruits, tons of hops. Medium to heavy sweet, medium bitter. Finish is long lasting fruity heavy hoppy bitter, medium alcohol. Full body, oily texture, average carbonation. Excellent dessert beer, very tasty, strong flavor, great one.

Bottle at home. Pours clear amber with a creamy off white head. The aroma is quite spicy fruity with sweet malty and sugary notes. Very boozy flavor. Fruity and malty and somewhat spicy. Hot boozy finish. The booze ruins the overall impression.
