COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Did you also at some point in your life get seduced by promising words like ’probably the best in the world’, ’it works every time’ etc.? This American Barley Wine Ale says it how it is. It’s intense, attention seekingly hoppy, and definitely your kind of beer. A beer with a big ego, drive and a huge thirst for recognition.

2012.08.07 - on tap at Always Ron's. Pours a ruby copper with thin white head. Aroma very nondescript to my nose. Taste is fleeting, off the taste buds as fast as it was on. Mouthfeel very smooth, almost "flat", little carbonation. For a barley wine, this is very smooth and hides the alcohol well.

Evil Twin’s Freudian Slip also clocks in at 10%. It pours a plum red/Amber with a head that was gone in the blink of an eye. The nose is rich malt & stone fruits + hints of pear. Med-light bodied with a somewhat silky texture. The taste is boozy, bitter at first, fruity then gives you some malty sweetness. The beer is about 8 months old though which could explain the lack of hoppiness.

Bottle. Nice dark fruit and caramel aroma with a slight hint of piney hops. Pours cloudy caramel colored with a thin off-white head with minimal retention and some lacing. Starts with caramel malt and dark fruit sweetness with a rich full body. Finishes dry with a piney hop bitterness at the end that melds with the dark fruit sweetness on the palate. Pretty good barleywine, but would have liked it better without the sharp hop bitterness.

Draft @ Funky Buddha Boca. Fairly cloudy amber, with a thick caramel head. Rich foresty aroma - caramel and hops like a 2 year old Bigfoot. Has a big, chewy character with quite a bit of bitterness but lots of malts, rich balanced earthy character.

Copper to amber colored clear beer with little blonde head. Arom,a has caramel, resin, pine, butterscotch and lingonberry jam. Flavor has caramel, berries and bitterness. Quite full palate with strong carbonation and bitterness. Finish has mild bitterness and alcohol. Aftertaste has also mostly alcohol with caramel, bitterness and cranberry. Too much booze.

Butla, 0,33. Barwa bordowo-brunatna.

Quite good. Minimal nose, just over a year old. Minimal hop presence until very end (get a slight bitterness). V Google mouthfeel. Some caramel and tinge of dark fruit. Nice

Bottled 03/12/14. Pours a murky brown/caramel with a thin head and medium sediment. Aroma has smooth notes caramel, hints of hops, and dark fruits. Taste sweet but with a solid bitterness as well. Bread, caramel, dark fruits, toffee, hop bitterness, a touch of alcohol, and a drawn out bitter ending. Full body with a low medium-low carbonation. Resiny/syrupy texture and a bone dry finish. Overall a big beer. Not a lot of hop aroma or flavour but still a big hit of bitterness at the end. Caramel, dark fruits, bread, and a creamyness.

This is a BIG beer! Deep amber colour with a modest white head. Deep toffee malts with hints of dried fruits in the middle followed by a long bitter finish. An excellent American Barley Wine. Rated by BrewTom
