COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Did you also at some point in your life get seduced by promising words like ’probably the best in the world’, ’it works every time’ etc.? This American Barley Wine Ale says it how it is. It’s intense, attention seekingly hoppy, and definitely your kind of beer. A beer with a big ego, drive and a huge thirst for recognition.

D’ampolla. Fosc de color marró. Nous, caramel amb panses en l’aroma. El sabor és de malts amb un munt de panses i malt caramel. Bona en la seva categoria.

355ml bottle pours an amber brown color with a finger of white head that retains well and leaves only a few spots of lacing on the glass. Aroma is big dark fruits and chocolate. Taste is a big fruity and grainy malty sweetness up front finishing with a bold herbal and grapefruit hop bitterness. Medium to heavy bodied brew with moderate carbonation which satisfies the palate. Flavors are well balanced and this is a big, bold and tasty barley wine. Highly recommended.

Bottled in 03/2014. Color is chestnut brown. With small beige head and nice lacing. Aroma is hoppy with figs, plums a slight skunkiness, some caramel. Flavor is woah. Very big plums and caramel sweetness up front with a steeliness. Some big dark fruits hit you hard. At first I thought there was no hoppiness but then it hits you hard too, at the end. Big hoppy bitter finish. The fruity and caramely malty sweetness at the front totally dissolves into this huge hop character. At first when I take a sip, I think there’s no way there will be any hops. And it just hits you. Wow.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Beer Market Jaffa. Thanks Ariel. Clear deep amber with a small beige head. Aroma of stale hops, some caramelly malt and a bit of alcohol. Sweet flavor, malty, continues with somewhat stale hops (still with malt in the background) and a bitter and kinda alcoholic finish. Somewhat oily mouthfeel. So-so.

12 oz bottle. Pours a deep reddish mahogany color with moderate head. Aromas of caramel, sweet dark fruits/raisins, pine, and toasted malts. Flavors are same but with a healthy dose of alcohol especially on the finish - not unexpected...

12 ounce bottle into snifter, bottled on 3/12/2014. Pours moderately hazy/cloudy deep ruby red color with a 1 finger dense khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, orange peel, caramel, toast, toffee, brown sugar, raisin, plum, floral, grass, pine, and floral/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/pine hops and moderate dark malt sweetness; with good strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, orange peel, caramel, toast, toffee, brown sugar, raisin, plum, floral, grass, pine, and floral/grassy earthiness. Good amount of pine/grassy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, orange peel, caramel, toast, brown sugar, toffee, raisin, plum, floral, grass, pine, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish. Very nice complexity and balance of big citrus/pine hops and moderate dark malt sweetness; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a smooth and fairly slick/sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with only a light warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice American barleywine style. All around good complexity and balance of citrus/pine hops and moderate dark malt sweetness; and very smooth to drink for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

This is a fantastic barley wine. Beautiful caramel nose. More caramel and dried fruit flavors before a lasting hoppy finish. Awesome.

Bottle. Pours a dark purple color with a medium off-white head. Aroma of thick grass and pine. American hops and lots of them. The flavor is bitter and sweet and the hops are balanced by a medium body with some significant malt backbone. This is a nice beer. No doubt. Well designed. Well fermented. There is something missing though. Some je ne sais quoi. This is almost on par with SN Bigfoot, which says something about this small brewery.

It pours hazy brown with a small head the doesn’t leave lacing. It has a weaker aroma than most barley wine with faint molasses and malts. It has a sweet taste mixed with dried fruits, roasted flavors, and coffee malts. There is also a tinge of bourbon in the flavor as well.

12oz bottle Poured into a snifter -- Is an amber beer with a slight red twinge to it. Small head that occasionally sticks to my glass. Aroma is booze, toffee, hops. Flavor is just a plain and simple good Barley Wine. I think this just took over as my favorite BW.
