COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Did you also at some point in your life get seduced by promising words like ’probably the best in the world’, ’it works every time’ etc.? This American Barley Wine Ale says it how it is. It’s intense, attention seekingly hoppy, and definitely your kind of beer. A beer with a big ego, drive and a huge thirst for recognition.

Bottle... Blazer’s low-key O-Town Throwdown 2012… Mostly clear burnt-caramel ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. Great retention. The aroma consists of clover honey and loads of caramel with some nice floral notes. Full-bodied and chewy with gentle carbonation. The flavor delivers gobs of caramel and date sweetness flanked by rindy, tannic bitterness that nearly matches that malt bill. Finishes bittersweet with lingering bitterness.

Bottle @ home via rotebox. Think I picked this one up in KC a while back. Pours a murky reddish brown appearance with a brown head. Some oxidation / paper offered in the aroma. Sherry, brown sugar, plum, figs in the nose. Spicy piney hops in the flavor though they appear to have faded somewhat. Somewhat goopy mouth feel. Thick toffee, burnt sugar, dark fruity flavor. A little bit of cardboard. Booze isn’t horribly strong. Ehhh.

"this beer is pretty intense with a load of caramel malts and a sweet citric hop bite as well as a little alcohol. that said, it is quite enjoyable when searching for a deep, dark, in your face sipper. a little pricey, but damn good."

Bottle thanks to Matt. Pours a dark brown with beige head that lasts. The aroma is candy sugar, oak, and booze. Flavor is similar with nice sweetness. Boozy, good.
