Pours a clear and dark copper beer with an offwhite head. The aroma is malt, caramel, alcohol, fruit, dried fruit and hops with citrus. The flavor follows the nose. The palate is bitterness and sweetness. Overall a good beer.

Sample at SBWF 2014. Reddish/brown with a small head. On the sweet side with malt, dried fruit, hops, grapefruit, some warming alcohol. The body was thick. A pleasant one to sip.

Bottle@nkbar. Amber red, unfiltered. Light plummy rich deep caramel malts, some herbal hops. Full bodied, quite bitter, herbal. Ok barley wine, but not the best. Very bitter, bit harsh. Flavourful though.

Bottle: Opaque, light brown & burnt copper body with an ecru foam on top, decent sized for a barley wine. Aroma of sticky caramel, honey coated plums, grapes, sugar, & a light, earthy hop aroma. Sweet toffee aromas grow with some warmth, too. Hoppiness more vibrant on the palate; lightly ashy, leafy hop bit up front with a solid backing of sweet, residual sugars, caramel malt, toffee, light plum, honey, & faint brown sugar. Lingering bitterness underneath the sweet malt, lasting into the finish. Slight black cherry, molasses, & plum aftertaste.

"this beer is pretty intense with a load of caramel malts and a sweet citric hop bite as well as a little alcohol. that said, it is quite enjoyable when searching for a deep, dark, in your face sipper. a little pricey, but damn good."

Dark orange-brown color with small head. Innocent fruity-sugary (plums, candis fruits, toffee) alcohol-intense aroma, just like most barley wines, but the taste is a surprising mix of typical barleywine aromas and hoppy bitterness. Also a bitter grapefruit-like finish. Astonishing!

355ml bottle pours an amber brown color with a finger of white head that retains well and leaves only a few spots of lacing on the glass. Aroma is big dark fruits and chocolate. Taste is a big fruity and grainy malty sweetness up front finishing with a bold herbal and grapefruit hop bitterness. Medium to heavy bodied brew with moderate carbonation which satisfies the palate. Flavors are well balanced and this is a big, bold and tasty barley wine. Highly recommended.

Bottled in 03/2014. Color is chestnut brown. With small beige head and nice lacing. Aroma is hoppy with figs, plums a slight skunkiness, some caramel. Flavor is woah. Very big plums and caramel sweetness up front with a steeliness. Some big dark fruits hit you hard. At first I thought there was no hoppiness but then it hits you hard too, at the end. Big hoppy bitter finish. The fruity and caramely malty sweetness at the front totally dissolves into this huge hop character. At first when I take a sip, I think there’s no way there will be any hops. And it just hits you. Wow.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Beer Market Jaffa. Thanks Ariel. Clear deep amber with a small beige head. Aroma of stale hops, some caramelly malt and a bit of alcohol. Sweet flavor, malty, continues with somewhat stale hops (still with malt in the background) and a bitter and kinda alcoholic finish. Somewhat oily mouthfeel. So-so.
