4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 77ships (2239) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - SEP 30, 2012
Draft @ Borefts 2012. Pitch black with a thick mocha head. Smell is huge thick vanilla paste and lots of coconut, bit candy-like, it is crazy, marzipan, white chocolate, dude. Tastes like condensed milk, coconut, vanilla extract, milk chocolate, small touch of chocolate and malt as well, the chili is very light and almost not noticable. Reasonably bodied, rather rediculous like most Evil Twin stuff but in a pretty good way. Hey Zeus
4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 Idiosynkrasie (1980) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - SEP 30, 2012
On tap at 4th Borefts. Black with small, frothy to creamy, brown head. Intense dark malty aroma with lots of chocolate, vanilla, almond, marzipan, cherry liqueur. Taste is sweet dark malty, dark and milk chocolate, vanilla, cherry liqueur; little by little the chili comes up hot and peppery - not overpowering, in perfect accordance with the sweet parts. Sticky, oily palate. Wow! Liquid chocolate with chili.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 lortsker (332) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - OCT 21, 2012
Draught pours pitch black small brown head, aroma a hint of smoke, chocolate cake, capsaicin, slight vegetal, vanilla, butterscotch, dusty, herbal notes, motor oil, light cinnamon, taste follows the nose, very smooth, creamy, you get a small chili kick but it is followed by enough sweetness to mellow it out. Great balance
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 kermis (2602) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - SEP 29, 2012
Draft at Borefts. Pours black with a thick beige head. Aroma has massive floral and perfume qualities along with dark chocolate and pepper. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. The chilli continues to build in the back of your throat with each sip, leading to a bigger and bigger chilli finish in a nice way. A nice oily mouthful, with a full body and soft carbonation. A standout beer!
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Martinus (1878) - Nijmegen, NETHERLANDS - OCT 16, 2012
Black colour, with an almost radiant yellow head. Aroma of malts, roasted malts, vanilla, caramel, somewhat sweet, light bell pepper (paprika). Sweet malty flavour, vanilla, light spicy chili. Quite balanced. Oily body. Finish bell pepper, roasted malts and vanilla.
I really like this one.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Leighton (7179) - London, ENGLAND - OCT 2, 2012
On tap at Borefts 2012, Bodegraven. Pours oily black with a light, brown foam head. Dark malt nose, light peat, burnt wood, something slightly vegetal (lettuce?). Hugely sweet flavor, lots of dark chocolate, sturdy roast, chili peppers. Full bodied with fine, chewy carbonation. Faint warmth in the finish, dark chocolate, some very hot chili spice - thought not too hot, it should be added. Lingering chocolate, oily sugars and heat. This beer has a very good level of hotness. It’s not overbearing like some spicy beers.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 phredrik (989) - Copenhagen (formerly Aalborg), DENMARK - OCT 21, 2012
Tap @ Mikkeller. Aroma is very nice - filled with cocoa and vanilla, almost like a chocolate milkshake, milk chocolate. Then it has a hint of vegetal chili, and somewhat of a roasty/ashy note in the background. Taste is initially intensely sweet, lots of vanilla and chewy chocolate caramel sweetness, toffey and fudge, and then comes the chili, approaching pretty quickly after a second or two. The sweetness is balanced by the chili, and vice versa. It works very well, a cool take on one of the best imperial stouts in my book, Even More Jesus. The decadence of this beer is belong to me.
