Perhaps you heard of a worldwide beer-movement that tributes favorite hipster neighbourhoods across the globe. First came Istedgade, Copenhagen then Södermalm, Stockholm followed by Williamsburg, New York and Shoreditch, London accompanied by Trastevere, Rome & last El Raval, Barcelona. If you feel excluded because you’re hip but your city is not, this cutting-edge, ‘hip without borders’ pale ale is an homage to you – the global hipster. Cheers!

Canned @ home, courtesy of womencantsail. Fucken a bro. Pours a murky orange appearance with a fluffy, off white head. Light celery, fairly herbal, a bit woody, a touch fruity hoppy aroma. A bit goopy, toasty malty, cracker, grapefruity, herbal flavor. I think this can is fairly fresh but it is still disappointing like the others in the series that I’ve had.

Hip looking can, bro. Pours a cloudy light orange color with floating particles in it. Small head that dissipates quickly. Nice mango and citrus aroma in the nose. First sip reveals this to be way under carbonated. I like m hoppy ales with a sharp carbonation, this one is not cutting it. Otherwise, it tastes pretty good though. Fairly thin bodied, but nice and hoppy. Hipster.

12oz. can, guessing this is pretty fresh. Fresh, pleasant aroma, plenty of green, leafy, spicy, fruity and herbal hop tones, with notes of grapefruit, lemon, orange and resin, also features some lightly grainy, faintly sweet pale maltiness in the background, a tinge of honey present here as well. Lightly hazy medium golden-amber color, with a fine, uneven, lasting head and very fine lacing. Flavor profile is skewed towards the hoppy side for certain, with a moderate amount of bitterness throughout, along with plenty of pine, citrus and herbal characteristics, some earthiness showing up late, and mingling with the pale, gently sweet, cereal and caramel malt aspects that readily prevent this from veering squarely into IPA territory, well-hopped though it may be. Fine but insistent effervescence on the palate, which is dry and well-balanced, body is medium. Really quite nice. Not sure about the name, though.

Pours cloudy yellow with thin white head. Nose is grapefruit hops, a little pine hops, and a little malt. Flavor is sweet, nice bitterness, pretty easy to drink. Light mouthfeel.

Did somebady say pale ale? forget it, this is IPA green grapefruit all the way. Difficult bitter stuff in a can. If you like IPA, this is fer U! HA HA, pretty funny, an american pale ale brewed in denmark. I guess this is revenge for the american brewers who try to brew old country styles here in the US. Deep grapefruit bitterness peircing the palate.

02-MAR-2013, can @home, from Ølbutikken, shared with Morten. Hazy orange with lasting, lacing, off-white head. Grape fruit, pine, quite malty with caramel and bread. A little oily but turns watery. Surprisingly sweet but ends bitter and more dry. Fine can brew:-)
