Perhaps you heard of a worldwide beer-movement that tributes favorite hipster neighbourhoods across the globe. First came Istedgade, Copenhagen then Södermalm, Stockholm followed by Williamsburg, New York and Shoreditch, London accompanied by Trastevere, Rome & last El Raval, Barcelona. If you feel excluded because you’re hip but your city is not, this cutting-edge, ‘hip without borders’ pale ale is an homage to you – the global hipster. Cheers!

Nearly clear gold pour with a 2 finger, fluffy off white head. Aroma is caramel, cereal, and herbal and citrus hops. Flavor is caramel, light toffee, biscuit, herbal, citrus and earthy hops and some light, tart, fruity notes to the finish. The aftertaste is pretty medicinal and unpleasant. Light body with a watery entry, moderate strength carbonation and dry, to slightly astringent finish. Decent enough overall, but at a price of $16/6pk it is a total ripoff, that has no effect on my score, but it is certainly not worth the price.

Pours a hazy to cloudy golden orange with a tall, rocky cream-colored head that settles leaving some clumpy lace. Nose involves soft pine, juicy sweet fruit, leafy herbal, minty, and grassy hops, lemon, peppery spice, toasty notes, orange and grapefruit. Fairly sweet, decently bitter. Light to medium bodied, active, prickly, juicy, with a toasty dry and bitter finish. Decent brew, drinkable, plenty of good stuff.

Really hop heavy APA , a really refreshing beer, that is very easy to drink.

Grain and pine aroma. Light hazy gold with a soap bubbly head to start. Dry solid bitterness. Light body. Faint malt and grain on the taste buds. Drinkable but doesn’t excite the senses much.

APA for ’global hipsters’, the can claims. Slight gusher: foam poured out upon opening the can (must be the first time I experience gushing from a can...). Very thick and frothy, cream white, dense head residing like a mat of foam over a warm orange blonde beer with lively fizz and an equal haze of yeast divided throughout its robe. Somewhat weak aroma of field flowers, peach blossom, light strawberry or melon, biscuit, pineapple, tangerine, very faint lemon zest and an equally faint hint of iron. Crisp onset with strong effervescence, restrained and clean fruitiness of unripe peach, sour berries and pineapple, elegantly light and soft body, some biscuity malts overshadowed by resiny, spicy hops, peppery and leafy with a main character of grapefruit peel and even tonic water, leaving a long, lasting bitterness in the back of the mouth. Elegant, light and rather powerfully hopped APA, but I think this could be better with a bit more malt body to it.

355ml can from Brewdog online shop. Pours golden with a light haze & pale floaters, big white head. Aromas of lemon & lime, resinous hops, caramel. Taste is bitter at first, then caramel sweet at the end. Oily texture which the high carbonation doesn’t quite cut through. Bitter finish. Nice.
