Bomber. Very opaque mid brown and inviting looking. A substantial tan head. Big malts in the nose with hops right behind. They are all over the place with complexity. Hops hit the taste buds first with an all out assault. Huge citrus bites, just huge. Bitterness is almost off the chart. All of that malt is just over powered here. Thete is so much here to like and nothing to dislike. My only knock is that it is so over done.

[500ml bottle, courtesy of cgarvieuk] Slightly hazy reddish amber. Piney hop aroma. Nice body for 7%, more caramel on the flavour than the aroma. The trouble is, after a while it becomes sugar and not much else. Needs work on the balance, I think

4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Wow, fantastic beer. A brown pour with khaki head around the edges. The aroma is solid hops, but with a nutty base. The taste follows with warming hops blended wonderfully into a nutty brown ale base. Some bitterness, some hop brightness and pineyness, Medium mouthfeel, and easily drinkin’.
Enjoyed this one - its my kind of beer.

Draft at Thirsty monk. Pours brown with an a quarter inch of khaki foam that leaves a slight amount of lacing. Nice hoppiness on the nose that becomes more prominent as it warms. Lots of hops on the tongue with a small hint of roast malt that comes through in the finish. Interesting interpretation of the style.
