“When I copied the famous Even More Jesus, I had to ask myself as an artist, why am I doing this? I didn’t honestly know. It was just an instinct about beer as pure form… in a sense this stout is like a metaphor for freedom - the sum of all the beauty that surrounds me and my perfect contemporary existence.”

Sweet, dark fruits, sweet orange, dark fruit jam, chocolate. Slightly hazy, dark brown, small, creamy, beige head. Medium bitter. Dark chocolate, cacao, bitter sweet chocolate, charcoal, dry bitterness intensifies, soft carbonation, full bodied. Very nice Imperial Stout, very complex throughout. Keg at Sugar Maple, Milwaukee.

UPDATED: AUG 18, 2016 On tap at eleszto. Very dark brown colour good lightbrown microfoam. Nose is loads of molasses light coffee. Omg. Taste is medium high sweetness, low bitterness. Definitive booze. Smooth mouthfeel. Like a cafe con leche as my mother would drink it. Would say its a sweet stout but i love those. Just a little bit too sweet.

Very sweet and dry and a bit difficult to drink. Lots of dark chocolate with vanilla, liquorice and coffee. Intensely full of chocolate flavour. Perhaps a bit too intense as it needs to be sipped slowly. But good to push the boundaries.

Just a tad too sweet and lacking complexity. Actually this is really sweet, cloying. 2 year old bottle stored well. Molasses, vanilla, cinammon, dark chocolate but hasnt melded together as hoped.

DK brown with an inch of big bubbled tan head. Aroma contains some sprucey hops and a bit of roast. Taste is extreme, with equal parts coffee, vomit and licorice. It's interesting, but I can't say it's pleasant. SF "doesn't taste all that stoutly to me". $4/12oz ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Not as good as Even More Jesus, with a lot more boozy/alcohol character and not as much complexity. Pours black with average head, the aroma is anise, very bitter, burnt roasted malt, some alcohol. Malty up front on the tongue, but the finish has enough strong alcohol character to almost be medicinal, at least in comparison to the far better EMJ.

Apr. ’16. A 0.33 l bottle that poured a bit hazy, very dark brown, almost black body with a small brown head. Fine, very fine roasted malt aroma of coffee, dark chocolate, dark fruits like plums and raisins. Flavor was lightly bitter roasted with a strong pleasantly sweetish note, too. More of the same, with a medium complexity although very balanced. Full bodied with a long, nicely rounded finish. Only lightly warming, the alcohol was well subdued. A nice one!

Bottle@Konttori, Tampere, Finland. Strong aroma with licorice, plum, some chocolate and bourbon. Pitch black color with minimal/small light beige head. Strong taste with plum and licorice. Some coffee and just slightly roasted malts. Balanced with medium taste spectrum and medium/short aftertaste with plum and licorice. Strong body with light carbonation. Overall, superb product with emphasis to sweeter nuances with cost of malty flavors.
